1st time w/ no magic band

I'm going down for a convention, staying off site and will have 1 day to myself that i'm spending in Epcot.

I bought my ticket though that app, and made my FPs but now I don't know the process without a MB? Traditionally we have the vacation package booked and MBs mailed and its all good.

With the 1 day ticket I have a scannable bar code on the app, so what do i do when I go to use a FP? Is there some form of RFID ticket media I need to get? I'm most likely coming in through International gateway, is there a guest relations booth there?

If I buy a MB, i guess they would link it?

I feel strangely silly b/c I've never stayed off site before.

Do you still have a previous MB? You can still use them if they are still liked to your MDE account. The long range battery can die after a couple of years, but all the other features will work (basically anything using a tap point).

I would just bring on old magic band. You can check in MDE to see if you still have old bands linked to your account.

our last trip was summer of 2016. And it was the 1st gen MB's, think that'll work?

I really only need it for FP. Staying off property and will have a gift card for F&W items.

It will certainly work for entry and Fast Passes. It should still work for the long range stuff, but there is no way to know for sure. That's basically just ride photos and any of the little personalized things that they sometimes do (which I'm not even sure of any at Epcot).

The only difference between 1st gen and 2nd gen MBs is cosmetic.

thats fine...I'm really just there for F&W but figured I'd grab a ride on Soarin and SSE while I was there, I mean you have to right?

The short range functions, like using a band at any tap point, should always work as that is not reliant on the internal battery. And, of course you have to fit in a few rides. How could you not?

If you can find an old MB use that - if not just stop at guest relations and get a plastic ticket and use that for entrance and FP+.
