1st time to Vero Beach with a 3 year old

Just be sure to check the Beach Info at the resort for your stay. Vero can have high waves and riptides and sharks.

Just be aware of the conditions while you are there.

Hi there! I'll be going to VB with a 3yrd old in May too!! We don't get there until the 13th though. So glad I found your thread I had many of the same questions. DD will be 4 in July so I'm hoping she'll be allowed in some of the 4 yr old programs since it will be so close. I was also wondering about what someone mentioned about the studio room "never again". What didn't you like about the studio? We had requested an inn room and it wasn't available. Thanks for all the info!

Congrats on having another girl. I have two girls, 3 and 6. (same age difference as yours will be.) It worked out great. The older one was old enough to take care of herself for the most part when her sister was born, but yet they are still close enough they play together all day.

I thought I saw on the activities list that they had a separate unbirthday party for the younger set. Or was I dreaming?

The Dodgers have a minor league team in Vero. You could go to a game.

And I also thought in the summer they had the Goofy character meal on Wednesdays, too? Anyone?

As for Orlando, have you thought about staying at that Holiday Inn Family suites? It is supposed to be great, a resort all unto itself. That way you don't have her thinking Mickey like she might if you were at All Stars or Pop. I see deals for the hotel all the time. I think we will do this one day and go to Sea World.

Nick@ VB+OKW, Thanks so much for the links with the pictures, I really enjoyed looking a them, what a lovely family. It looks like you had tons of fun. (you too floridafam).

lenshanem, that is good news about the girls. I have 3 older brothers and never had a sister, so this will be new for me. It was our plan to wait until DD 1 was not so much a baby before having a second one. I think they will play together. DD has older couisns she sees almost daily and they love playing with her.

Thanks for the tip on Holiday Inn, there is so many off prop hotels in Orldando or around I wouldnt' know where to start (we tend to only stay on prop, and now DVC, who would want anything else? It really spoils you.)

Vero is sounding like the perfect alterntive to WDW for us.

I had read that they did have the goofy breakfest on Wed over the summer too, but I don't know it they will start by May. If they do we will try it.

We visited Vero last summer for 3days. This was a perfect way to end a 7 day vacation to WDW (Wilderness Lodge). In fact we signed the papers for DVC while at VB. We purchased 200 pts at BCV and hope to begin using them this summer.

We will have all of 2003's points and all of 2004's points to use.

We loved VB. At first I was a bit diappointed in the activities for my 8 yr old DD. I think I was comparing it to the Disney Cruise (we have sailed on the 4 day and the 7day). However, we loved our quiet vacation. My 8 yr old loved building sand castles and boogie boarding in the ocean (with daddy's help to get her started). So much that we stopped at Ron Jon's Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach and bought a boogie board just for her to use at VB the next time we go.

We had a garden view and it did overlook the parking lot. Since we were only there for 3 nights it didn't really matter. We did make a trip to the local wal mart for some salad makings, pop tarts, juice etc. (not much for such a limited stay). The pizza at the pool is reasonably priced and at my daughter's request we had pizza and movie night in the room one night.

Good luck!
