Hello!

My husband and I are hoping to go to DL for our 10th anniversary this August (staying 4 days/3 nights). We're trying to do this fairly economically. We've had really good luck with Hilton Garden Inn in Chicago. Just wondering how this one was. My husband found some great rates online. (Can't beat the $23 we can priceline for in Chicago though! :) ) How is the hotel? I've read horrid things about the actual Hilton. How close to DL is it actually? Is there transportation to the parks?

Any comments about the hotel -- or trip, for that matter -- would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, daannzzz! I did as you suggested. Still no one that's actually stayed there -- but someone's parents had and gave it a good report.

Thanks for the suggestion!

You are welcome. It is still a pretty new hotel so can't be bad... unless they have service issues.

I haven't stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, however I've stayed at the Embassy Suites that shares the same parking lot.

Hilton Garden Inn will be the same here as in Chicago, pretty standard hotel. If you are a Hilton Honors member, they may upgrade your room or provide breakfast coupons.

The ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) system is used to get to the parks, when I stayed there the Hilton Garden Inn was the last stop, however the first stop is just across the parking lot, I'd suggest walking to the Hampton Inn to pick up the transit. It really is too far to walk to the parks, probably 2 miles.

I commuted from Denver to Orange County for 14 months and my favorite hotel was the Hilton Anaheim Convention Center. I'd see what the rate is there first. I've paid as low as $79/night and it is walking distance to the park. If you request a park view room, it is possible to get it and then see the park lights all night long. It is amazing to wake up in the middle of the night and see the Matterhorn mountain from your window.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your info.! We're still undecided -- now thinking of maybe staying onsite -- for something special for our anniversary. Who knows! :)

Thanks again!
