1st Time Flying Out of Detroit

There is lots of parking north on Woodward - north of the Fox. I park there. There are big open lots, $20 to park or so, but you can scoot out the side alleys there straight to the Lodge (#10). Head towards Motor City Casino, then follow the signs to the Lodge. Don't head out towards Woodward, it will be crazy. Bring your gps if you have it. 10 will take you to 94 and then west to your hotel. Make sure your valuables are locked out of site. There is usually a lot of police presence there around Comerica. I will sometimes exit 75 on Warren then shoot down Woodward if it is crazy backed up on the highway. The last time we went it was a Red Wings Semi Final and the Taylor Swift concert we were trying to get to. OMG!

Thanks so much! We have always parked in the same place - a parking garage right near the park. I want to say near W Montcalm St and Woodward. We usually leave before the end of the game to avoid the rush, but that may change with our son coming this time.

Part of the reason for heading to the hotel first, is to unload everything from the car so there's nothing of value in it. We are definitely extra cautious in Detroit! I'm still worried about leaving the car in the QuickPark for a week!

Great advice.

I was there for the Taylor Swift concert....getting out of downtown was a complete and utter nightmare. Took me forever to get home. On the plus side, it was so worth it for my DD and her BFF - a night to remember forever!

It was a lot of fun wasn't it? My daughter loves Ed Sheeran and she put on a great show as well!

How far is the airport once you cross into detriot.

there is heavy cop presence down there so as long as you stay on the busy roads, u'll be just fine. Have used quik park many times and love it.

The drive from Sarnia to Detroit is fine (I did it for 19 years for work), just get your gas before 8 mile - I get mine at 23 mile usually (Utica exit) and stay on 94 to 75. Shouldnt be a problem. There is less traffic to deal with in Sarnia than Windsor in my opinion. Have fun!

we have a ford flex, london, to la quinta hotel in romulus and back is no problem on one tank of gas, it is a nice hotel, parking is included, and so is the shuttle, other than being a boring drive, but so is the 401 from london to windsor, we will always take that way, we will come back through windsor sometimes however, cause the wife normally wants her timmys fix fast
