1st time BWV - views?

We have a "preferred view" studio for Dec.; this is our first stay at BWV. I've stayed at BCV & YC many times, so I'm very familiar with my favorite resort area. We only requested to be near the bus/boat dock, as I'm taking my 66 yr old mother.

My real question is: Are there ANY rooms at BWV that have any views of Illuminations or Fantasmic? I keep looking at the resort map (at http://allears.net/acc/boardwalkmap.jpg), but can't figure it out!

Any insight would be appreciated!

From other posts, I believe that the rooms that face the courtyard that leads to the boat dock are Pool/Garden View rooms. They would be in the area of numbers 10 & 11 on the map you linked to. If those are pool/garden view, they would be the only ones in the view which may offer a view of Illuminations. Not sure about Fantasmic, I don't recall any posts about being able to see them.

There is only one elevator bank with three elevators and that is centrally located. So even if your villa is close to the boat dock, you'll have to get back to the elevator to get down to ground level.

On the link you posted, the garden/pool views are on the inner side of the "C" and facing out to the Village Green (towards the BWInn).

And if I were your 66 yr old mother (I'm only a little bit younger), I'd be a little bit upset with you thinking of me as feeble and not able to walk.

We stayed in a studio at BWV a few years ago, directly facing the clown slide, top floor, very close to the elevators. We could see the Fantasmic fireworks from our balcony every night.

We were in that exact same area in a studio several years ago, but it was before Fantasmic.

Yes, but it is still just Preferred rather than Standard. No additional points for a BW view over the Preferred (pool/garden) view.
