1st time at Poly!!!

I would be content just to go to the Poly and skip the parks (almost)! I would skip a Disney trip rather than stay anywhere else.

Lapu lapu yummmmmm, be for warned one is all you need, its made with 151.
Ohanas has amazing food our favorite from our trip in Dec.
I was disapointed to hear they have dole whips at Captin cooks, we did not go in, and I LOVE DOLE WHIPS!!!! Next time!!!
I honestly never want to stay anywhere else but the Poly!!! We stayed consierge and it was amazing!!! We are already planning our next trip fo Dec.
Wishes from the beach best view of all, way better than MK.
We overslept for our Ohana breakfast but I have heard great things.
Have a great time. TIKI man, you must check out his posts on this sight.

Try to see the torch lighting ceremony. It is a short presentation at the main entrance but well worth making time to catch one evening.

That sounds really neat. Hope we will be able to do that one night! Do they do it every night?

Our family just made reservations today for a few nights at POR, and then we're moving to Poly for the rest of our stay. We're right there with you...we're so excited!!!! :jumping1:

We plan on staying at the poly next Feb for a split stay (other half at AKL). Be sure to write a trip report when you get back.

I'm staying at the poly in 9 weeks! I just made my Spirit of Aloha dinner reservation as well as the Lilo & Stitch breakfast a few minutes ago....I'm super excited...I've never been to the Poly. According to all your reviews, it sounds great!

I'm very excited, too! Since you are going before me, you will have to report how your stay was!!:)

I am also staying for the 1st time at the Polynesian from 12/15-12/25 in a Garden View Concierge room, so I can't wait for December because I am very excited about staying there.

We will be at the Poly Sept 28-Oct 8th. This is our 12th stay there I think. I lost track! Anyway you will love it! It is our favorite place to stay. I hang out by the pool more then going to the parks when we are there. The pool is fantastic, the view perfect, and the bar drinks, delicious!

 Leaving Friday for our first stay at the Poly. We can't wait ! I've loved reading all the poly tips. I know that I want to try some famous tonga toast, watch Wishes from the beach, see the torch lighting ceremony, and I've already made an adr for 'Ohana.

I'll let you know how wonderful it was when I return !:goodvibes

We're right with MartyJoe -- the only way we go to Disney is staying @ the Poly. I guarantee you will absolutely have a wonderful time!

Oh mai tai suggest a cocktail at least one night in the Tambu Lounge :thumbsup2

Just walking the torchlit paths at night is fabulous! :cloud9:

So how was your trip??

Hello everone! We will be at the Poly in October. We are doing a Land/Sea so we will be there for 3 nights before doing a 4 night cruise!!! So excited...can't wait! Especially after reading all of these wonderful posts here about how great it is. We were trying to decide between AKL and Poly at first....sounds like we chose wisely!

Question...how soon can you make reservations for the restaurants/shows? I haven't made any reservations for anything yet (including the cruise activities). Our trip is still 7 months away :-( but I want to book everything as early as possible. Also, do you have to pay for these things in advance...or give a deposit...or what? Thanks!

I'm also a Poly land/sea cruiser. You won't be eligible to book any shore excursions until you are paid in full and 75 days out for 1st time cruisers and 100 or 150 days out for concierge or past cruisers. I wanted to get a reservation for the Palo restaurant but since I'm 1st time cruiser, it was booked up!:sad1: For the actual bookings, you don't pay now..I assume you pay at the time of the excursion or end of the cruise? I think you can book the Resort dinners etc. at least 100 days out (there's a thread some-where here you can check to make-sure).. I booked the Spirit of Aloha dinner show and a Lilo & Stitch character breakfast at the poly.

I'm excited!
