1st time at Poly!!!

I was wondering if someone could tell me where the laundry facilities are? Are there more than a couple machines? If you used them did you find them to be clean? (I'm picky LOL) We're going 8 nights 9 days so I'm going to have to give in and do laundry at some point LOL.

we used the laundry facilities last dec. when we were there. We were in the Hawaii bldg and they were about a 5 minute walk behind the buildings---I recall we crossed the area of the heated "quiet" pool.

When you look at the resort from the front parking lot the facilities are nearest the right hand side, I *think* IIRC they are near the Neveland Club area? Anyway, it was a laundry room, it wasn't scummy but it wasn't pristine and new either. I wasn't skeeved out (and I am picky too), so I think you will be fine. Be sure to bring your laundry detergent. I think they have some in the vending machines?? but its probably not enough and will cost $$. We brought our own so I didn't pay attention to the cost of the soap.

I am getting excited reading this thread!!! We are going to WDW in 10 days with the free dining plan and were are planning to stay at the Poly for the night of the 9th to celebrate our son's 3rd b-day. We are so excited!

Its hard to stay anywhere else because we stayed at the Poly for our entire trip, except one night, last December. I am surreptitiously trying to see if I can change our entire reservation to the Poly for this trip... dh doesn't know yet... shhh!! :wizard:

The Poly laundry is located next to Roratonga, facing the monorail/bus stops/ parking lot. For a guest laundry, it's not bad on the cleanliness factor, unless you're dealing w/ some folks who were not very courteous that day. I believe there are at least 8 machines, maybe more. Can't say it was the highlight of the trip, but having to do laundry on our last trip wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.

Wishing a magical trip to all who are planning or waiting to depart for the Poly -- enjoy a little extra for us who miss it so! Aloha.

We arrive two weeks from Thursday! We'll be there at the same time!

We just got this great little tri-fold mailer yesterday which was welcoming us, had a photo of the Polynesian on it, and some tips for a great trip. It's funny getting a notecard two weeks before your trip just THEN mentioning making dining reservations. LOL But it served to excite us a little more for our trip. WAHOO!

Using TA so I guess I will miss out on that. RATS! One more reason not to use a TA ever again!!!!

We're staying at the Poly 10/16-10/20! I cannot wait! I am deciding to do the Lilo & Stitch breakfast on our check out day. I'm hoping that I might have some dining credits left. Will have to call and find out how to count them with the others that I'm doing. I know the lunch with Cinderella counts as two credits and so does the Luau. Is Lilo & Stitch ONE breakfast credit or two? This dining thing is confusing when I try to figure it out. Anyway, I can't wait for the Poly. DH about stroked when he seen our price per night. I told him this is our FIRST time and it just HAS to be magical! princess: So I'm still waiting for a code to come through too! :rolleyes1

I believe it's just one credit.

we are doing the lilo & stitch breakfast next week only 1 credit . I rec'd the tri-fold welcom packet about 2 weeks ago.

I never received the tri-fold welcome thingy! I called earlier this week, and they said they would re-send all the confirmation stuff, so maybe there's still hope??!!

44 more days until my Disneymoon at the Poly!!!! I can't wait and love reading all about the hotel.

Do they escort everyone to their room or just if your are Concierge?

And the bellman / cart driver will give you a little tour of the property on your way to the room! It is sort of fun!

A few weeks ago when my family and I were at WDW we went to the Polynesian to see where the Hawaii Longhouse is, since that is where we will be staying in December. Anyway the Cast Member there gave us all the info about it and said we could look at the lounge on the 2nd floor. Anyway after seeing it I thought it looked amaizing, so it made me even more excited to be staying there.
