We had a Fort trip booked just a few years ago but DH lost his job and we had to cancel and sell our trailer. Fast forward 3 years and now we live in Florida having moved from Wisconsin for a new, better job for DH. After talking about what trips to take this year we all realize how much we miss camping so we took the plunge and decided to camp at Christmas time. We lucked out and got a site for 3 nights the weekend before Christmas, are renting a pop up from Fort camper rentals, and have a golf cart rental booked for one night so we can go looping to look at the Christmas decorations on all the sites. We couldn't be more excited!

Hooray for patience and persistence! Congrats on the new job and the move!

Welcome to Florida and have a great time at The Fort in December .... I know you will. We have been visiting Disney in early December since 2006 and in 2011 we started going to Fort Wilderness. December is a very special time of the year around Disney and especial at Fort Wilderness. We are looking forward to our early December 2014 trip to Fort Wilderness.

So what part of Florida did you move to? :cool1:

Do you miss the snow? ;)

We moved here (NE Florida, north of Jacksonville) in 2006 from Pennsylvania and I will say I do not miss the snow. :beach:

:mickeyjum Welcome to FL! So happy for you guys. Have a magical time.

We recently moved from OH to FL (and, no, we do not miss the snow). I am now able to take my son (16 next month) to WDW for his first time (and second, third, fourth, ...). We are planning a two week trip to FW in March or April.

We live just SW ofJacksonville. We are out in the Oakleaf Plantation area of Orange Park. We definitely do not miss the snow. We have been here a year now and went back to WI for Christmas and couldn't wait to get back here and out of the cold. We told family that we will come up for a visit during summers from now on.
