Help me choose the best DVC for our family. We are a family of 5 (me, DH45, DS9 & DD7) and will be heading to WDW dates removed for my 40th bday! I've always wanted to stay in a DVC and this is a perfect chance for us. We will be going to MK for one day and spending the rest of the time relaxing at the resort. So I'm looking for a nice resort with a nice pool and a good time.

Out of these resorts...where would you stay and why?

Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House or Kidani Village, Standard View 1-Bedroom Villa

Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, Savanna View 1-Bedroom Villa

Disney's Boardwalk Villas - Standard View 1-Bedroom Villa

Disney's Boardwalk Villas - Preferred (Garden/Pool) View 1-Bedroom Villa

Disney's Old Key West Resort - 1-Bedroom Villa

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa - 1-Bedroom Villa

First of all, I suspect if you haven't already booked this it might be a moot point. The fact is you might have to take what's available.

Since you are only spending one day in any of the parks (why on earth would you do that????), I'm going to say I would lean toward a Kidani Village Savanna view 1 bedroom. Staying at Animal Kingdom Villas with a Savanna view is like a destination itself, and there is a wonderful water play area for the kids.

One other question....You say a family of 5, but you only listed 4???????

Second choice would be Old Key West 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom. This resort has a lot of fun things to offer kids the ages of yours, and they wont be so close to the parks as to feel they are missing out when they can see a park and not go to it. The Sandcastle slide will be a big hit with the kids. Plus, at OKW, you are close to Downtown Disney and all the fun things there.

If I were to rank your list, it would be:
1. Kidani Village
2. Jambo House
3. Old Key West
4. Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
5 & 6 any of the Boardwalk Villas

The reason I would put Boardwalk on the bottom is because they will be able to see both Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot from the resort, and I dare you to try and get by without going to those parks in that case!!!:rotfl:

Either of the Animal Kingdom Lodge/Villas offerings will have the experience and both will have access to the water area. You will easily be able to walk back and forth between the two as well.

OKW and SSR will have no view of any park, but are both easy access to Downtown Disney. I feel like OKW is more child friendly than SSR though.

Please call today to see what is available. :thumbsup2
You may find that some of your resorts listed are not available for some or all of your days in the size room that you are looking for.

I'd stick with OKW or AKV because of the sleeper chair in the living room. That means all 5 of you will have a bed. BWV and SSR don't have a sleeper chair so there is only beds for 4.

Since you're going to spend a lot of time at the resort I'd pick Kidani SV 1bdrm. This way you can sit on the balcony and enjoy a wonderful view! Just remember to request a lower floor so you're closer to the animals.

My vote would be for Broadwalk villas. Especially if you are not doing any parks. I just love the ability to walk around the lake. Plenty of things to do and eat. Great for people watching.

Thanks everyone!!! I choose Jambo standard view 1 bedroom. I can't wait to try out my first DVC stay. Hope I don't get hooked. ;)

I would vote for the Animal Kingdom Jambo house as long as you do not mind the bus ride. Our kids love watching the animals. My second choice would be BW since it is close to two of the parks.
