I am going to Disney the first week of March for a conference. I have been to Disney several times, but this will be my first trip going solo.

It will be a little strange eating TS meals for one, but I want to try Jiko, Citricos, etc.

Also, my package includes the free 5x7 photo. Any ideas on something different for a solo photo would be appreciated.

Is there a list or thread somewhere that shows the rides that offer the single rider option. I guess this would be my first opportunity to take advantage of that as well.

Going solo, the week after you! :yay:

I have no idea what I'll do the 5x7 photo, but I'll assume something iconic. :upsidedow

The allears.net site has a guide map of all the parks, indicating single rider lines. It is not many...Test Track at Epcot and Everest at AK come to mind. There are threads.

My meals will be counter service mainly, I think but I did make ADRs for 3 table service restaraunts. I asked before (on a thread somewhere) and everyone posted said there was no problem and didn't feel like all eyes were on them. Made me feel better. :goodvibes

Have a great time!

what are your dates in march? i'll be at pop from march 4-11, can't wait!

this is not my first solo trip, i've done a bunch. but i really have no problem eating by myself! i schedule at least one sit down ADR each day. i also spend lots of time at the tune in lounge (bar) at MGM w/my favorite bartender dave.

so yeah, i say, have fun! don't worry about being alone, it is a BLAST!!!!

I'll be there for my first solo trip in March as well. The 8th - 14th. I have scheduled 1 sit down meal a day. People suggested bringing a book, a travel journal to keep notes in order to take your mind off being solo. Have fun!

I'll be there March 1-6 for a conference at the CSR. Even though solo this time, should still be fun as long as I stop by the Epcot kiosk with the Grey Goose lemonade slushes.

The single rider option is not that good, usually. I am still a fan of getting a fastpass, it tends to be quicker. I have been to disney solo many times, and I never get tired of it. It allows me to do what I want, when I want. Hopefully this next trip, March 6-11, will allow me time to do things I haven't had time to do...like Cirque, and maybe more.

I think single rider works great at Test Track and Everest. But I can't think of any others either. Wish they had it on Soarin.

My favorite place to eat on my solo trips is the Flying Fish bar. There's usually someone to start a conversation with, the bartenders are nice, and the food and wine are amazing! It might also be nice to request the sushi bar at California Grill, if you can get a reservation. Especially if you like sushi!

I will be down from March 10-15 for my 3rd solo conference trip in the last 12 months. My trip down last March was my first solo trip ever and I had reservations about dining alone. To be honest I don't think I will ever be totally comfortable with it. That being said the absolute best place to dine alone at a sit down establishment is the ESPN Club. You can sit and eat at the bar or at one of their tall, bar tables right at the front. I stayed at the Yacht Club (and am staying there again for my next trip) so I ended up there almost every night. Very comfortable atmosphere to eat solo at.

I also did breakfast at Cape May Cafe on my last morning and felt a bit weird given that the place was loaded with families and young children because of the characters. That being said I have booked Cape May again for the final morning of my March trip because I just love the food there.

I am totally not the shy, self-conscience type but totally felt that way when dining solo at a sit down. Take that for what it's worth.

I think you will love your solo trip. I know I enjoy traveling solo. It's such a feeling of freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want without having to consult someone else. HEAVEN.

TS will be fine if you have something to keep you occupied while you wait for your food--Ask for a seat by the window so you have something to look at, and/or bring something to read, or write postcards, or take the opportunity to write about what you've done so far in your journal, or go through your photos on your digital camera. And chat up your cast member.

The following rides have single rider lines: Test Track, Expedition Everest, and
Rock N Rollercoaster. I believe that's it. I wish there were more.

Enjoy your trip(s)!

Hi, I am doing my first solo trip the same week (2/28 for 7 nights). I am so excited and nervous!! I think we have the same package. I just got my coupon book yesterday.

Can you tell me what area of Epcot I can find those Grey Goose Lemonade Slushies?? I love Grey Goose and I love Lemonade Slushies!!

I don't know for sure, but I would guess at the France pavilion, since Grey Goose is from France (according to Wikipedia).

I did my first solo trip last August. It was great! I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour one day and loved it! I loved being able to do what I wanted, when I wanted, for as long as I wanted. Just sitting with a coffee in DHS and watching people go by, my kids would have never let me do that! LOL!

Grey Goose Slushies are at a stand over in France, so good! I made sure to enjoy one of those!

Have a wonderful time! I did one TS alone when I was there (Kona) and it was fine. I actually wrote postcards while waiting and eating.

Hmmm....

I think I'm going to add in Grey Goose drink to my itinerary! :goodvibes
