ice cream prices are expected to skyrocket :faint:
It is being blamed on the increasing costs of cocoa & flavoring liquors. Guess it will be good for my diet.

i'm actually scared to go grocery shopping tonight!

ah well - I'll pick up some popsicles...DH and the dog love those. (heheh - yes - the dog - I give her the grape ones, I don't like grape. heheh)

I guess I will be 'walking' to get 'frozen yogurt'

Milk prices are scary too! In one week it went from 1.99 (on sale) to 3.99 (with a note explaining the increase)

Well, I did find some ice cream on sale last night. Dreyers 1/2 gallon for 1.99 (Limit 2) Too bad it wasn't Blue Bell :lovestruc

What? It's not because it's a dairy product? I think they're pulling our leg now.

Flavoring liquors? Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...don't let Starbucks hear! I pay $4.11 for a latte there as it is.

NOOOOOOO!!! Anything but the ice cream!!! How can I live without my Edy's Rocky Road??? We will have to give something up...do the kid's really need bread for their sandwiches? :teeth:

Glad I don't care for ice cream. Can you believe I live in Vermont, home of Ben & Jerry's and I dont' like ice cream:crazy:

I'm a french fry freak:crazy:

What about cheese! I went to buy some Velveeta Slices this weekend and about croaked  It was almost $6 for a little package of the slices (like 8 oz.) and it was only about $0.50 more to buy the 1 pound block! What's up with that!

I work in a grocery store a couple nights a week, and I just love to hear the customers complain about how we are raising the price. Like it is our fault. Milk has gone up, but the price of eggs has come down. Butter is outragous! Hopefully, this is short-term. I guess the dairy people just want to get more out of a gallon of milk then they are getting for gas.

I'm glad I don't drink regular milk. Yet another good reason for giving it up.

*sigh*
Yesterday I noticed gas prices were 199.9 (can't get any closer to $2 without being $2 LOL) and then that milk had gone from 1.79 to 3.99 all the sudden- was wondering what was going on there.

I don't drink milk anymore myself... but I have 3 kids! Geesh, I guess I better start rationing them- they are used to drinking milk by the gallon daily- literally.

The reasoning is a crock - but they have to come up with "some" reason or people would be absolutely outraged..

Remember about 12 years ago when coffee skyrocketed because of a "storm"? The prices never went down again so I'm assuming it had to be one heck of a storm...

I guess I really should complain about the dairy farmers...they've been getting a bad deal for years. The middle men make all of the money and the farmer gets very little. Washington State has lost over 50 dairy's since last October alone. Pretty soon we'll be getting all of our milk from Central America too

Oh I miss Texas, Oh I miss Blue Bell. You have said the magic word, I can almost taste it now. A guy who used to go to our church was a driver for blue bell. He would bring us samples of all the new flavors etc. Hmm, glad I am going to Texas this summer, yummy, yummy. :D

I have always mentally used the prices I see on the shelves at the grocery store as my own personal barometer of where the economy is going. Hardly scientific, but I have yet to be wrong.

I just had Ben and Jerry's over the weekend, and it didn't seem too high, yet!:D

I keep putting off getting gas, it goes up atleast a penny everyday!:(
