Hi everyone. My husband and I were at Disneyworld back in 2000 (I think). We are now in the process of planning our first trip with our twin girls. They will be about 4 1/2 when we go.

I can't decided when to go. We are debating between September, October and beginning of November. I believe Sept will be pretty hot. My dh birthday is October 1st (but i'm not sure how the free on your birthday works when you purchase a multi day pass). The weather should be pretty nice in November and not too crowded in the beginning of the month.

I am also not sure if it gets crowed with the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot the month of October.

If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Chris

Welcome, KYmom. How exciting that you're planning a family trip with your twins. I recommend early May during the Flower and Garden Festival. You're lucky your girls are so young as when they get older, missing school becomes an issue.... Alos, fall is great, but you have to factor in teh possibility of a hurricane. Right now WDW has a good deal---stay 5 nights in their resorts and get a WDW gift cert---have fun planning and mostly, have a great and memorable time in Disney:woohoo:.

Food and Wine Festival is well worth it. So gorgeous! The beginning to mid October isn't too bad, but if you go near the end of October it will be pretty busy because of Halloween. Mid November is usually pretty mild crowd-wise, but the beginning of December is really nice. The weather isn't hot, the humidity is down and you get to enjoy all of the Christmas decorations!

We took our kids for their first trip Sept. 08. It was downright HOT! I was fine because I was at the World  but the kids and DH were miserable when outside. The kids literally melted each time we stepped out the door. I think Oct. or early Nov. would be great! Nov. should be beyond hurricane season too.

Have fun planning! :wizard:

Welcome! I'm new here too. :)

My first WDW visit was right after Thanksgiving. Daytime was perfect, 70's and dry. Evenings were a little chilly, we just needed a light jacket.

Our first family visit was Sept 9 to Sept 16. Still 90's and humid, which I don't care for, but we made the best of it. I visited w/ a friend who lives in Kissimmee, and she later told me that the weather finally broke to 80's and a less humid right after we left. So maybe end of September might be warm enough for the pools, but not too warm. We found September was awesome in terms of cheap airfare and very light crowds. We never waited for anything!

We have tentatively chosen Thanksgiving week, or the week before, to return this year. HTH!

Hurricane season ends December 1st. I strongly recommend trip insurance if you travel during hurricane season. You just never know when a late storm will pop up.

I went in April 2009 and loved it! Not one drop of rain the entire 8 days and sunshine every day! No humidity but still hot...but not as hot as August. I loved the weather so much that I'm going again this April. But, I recommend the last week of April, the furthest away from Easter as possible. I heard it's extremely crowded near Easter. :scared1:

thank you for sharing your experienced there!..Is it really crowded if i go there by near easter?

Way too crowded to get your money's worth IMHO esp for a 1st timer---late April or any time in May is my suggestion. Actually, you might really enjoy alol of the beautiful topiaries at Epcot if you go during the Flower and Garden dates....=)

We loved going in September and are hoping to do so again. It was hot..but we didn't find it miserable. The crowds were non-existent except the TS places were a little busy b/c of free dining, but then again free dining is a great deal. It was hurricane season and we had to postpone by one day because of a storm we had at home, not in Florida. We had great weather; it only rained once. I wouldn't let hurricane season affect your plans. Just keep an eye on the radar and trip insurance isn't a bad idea. Disney was super nice about working with us.

Have fun whenever you go!

If my DD were pre-school age, I would go in April or early May. But, not the week before or after Easter. We have done Easter week twice. It is very crowded, but with a school age child vacation times are kinda set for you. I would avoid this time while you still can :goodvibes The weather is perfect in the spring and Epcot looks so beautiful with the Flower Show going on.

We went the first week of September this past year....it was perfect! There were no crowds and the weather did get warm, but not to where you were uncomfortable. Our oldest starts school in the fall, so September is out so I think we are planning on the last week of August. Have fun!!
