The wife and I were very exited to take our first DVC trip since becoming DVC Board Walk members a few months back. We needed a break so we flew down to Vero for a long weekend.

We were VERY impressed with the resort. It manages to capture that Disney magic we so love. Everything was first class without being stuffy.

The weather didn't really coperate and was overcast and cool the whole time. Since we were just looking to relax it didn't damper our good time. We spent the time eating, getting massages etc.

The resort looks perfect, you could not really tell a killer hurricane had recently rolled through, well until you left the resort. A stroll down the beach showed extensive damage to every property we saw. I counted numerous walkays to nowhere that had been destroyed.

Many of the local buildings were in rough shape too.

The only little thing I'd like to see changed were the beds, those things were like rocks!

So far so good on the DVC front!

I'm so glad to hear the weather didn't cooperate, my brother is vacationing there for the whole month, and I am just SO-OOOOOO jealous! I hope the weather cooperates the next time you travel. :wizard:

We just love Vero Beach, we went for the 1st time last year the 1st week of May. Well we thought it was so great we are heading back this year same time (with a few days at WDW since we will have AP this year, got to love the new DVC discount!)

SO glad you liked it, next time the weather will be better. Thanks for the update on how the area is recovering from the hurricanes.

Thanks for the report. Glad to hear your first trip was a success and that you enjoyed Vero. I'm also glad to hear the resort is back in shape -- but still saddened by what happened to that lovely town. :(

Is the Tiger Lily back together yet? And is Shutters okay? Just wondering about booking a spring trip with our little one.

I am glad you had a good time. We love Vero too.

It is sad what has happened to the area. Hopefully it won't take too terribly long to get it back to it's original beautiful state.

Tiger lily looked perfect and was fully operational and shutters looked great.

I have never been to Vero beach before and I did not know anything happened to these two and you certainly could not tell.
