Sooo excited (and alittle nervous) about our first camping trip (anywhere) at the Fort from May 27-June 1! Bought a Jayco TT this past December but haven't had a chance to take it out due to unusually cold / wet weather for NW GA / conflicts with hubby's schedule (long distance truck driver). It will be me, hubby, DD16 (she will be turning 17 on that Thursday at HS) and DS8 (his first time at Disney World) and doggie (yay for no vet boarding cost) !!!:woohoo:

Have a magical time. Be sure to get Birthday and first time buttons for the kiddos.

Thanks, we will ! I knew about the Birthday button (we were at WDW on DD bday some years ago) but didn't know there was a first timer's !!!

Congrats on the Jayco! Sounds like a great 1st trip with the new camper
and an incredible way to celebrate your DDs birthday. Have fun:-)

uugh having a terrible time getting hold of the golf cart guy (Kenny)! I managed to get him on the phone 2 days ago to ask about prices, but haven't been able to get him since to check for availability and reserve one! I filled out and submitted the form on his website but haven't gotten a confirmation or any type of correspondence on that either! :confused3

so .... yesterday was a very productive day for trip prep ..... golf cart reserved, campground reserved at the GA/FL line for Sunday night (just GOTTA break up that 10+ hour trip !). Still seems like there is TONS still to do ... looking for a good small propane grill (we just don't have the patience for charcoal) and a truck bed bike rack, don't EVEN get me started on the groceries and summer clothes I still need to get! I am an organizing freak so my list keeps GROWING, and I am paranoid I'm going to forget something really important, although I try to keep in mind that they do have stores down in Orlando !!

Where are you staying on the Ga/Fl line? We bought a small propane grill from Walmart a few years ago, still nothing like cooking over the charcoal, although we have a road trip grill also. Usually, we take enough groceries to feed most of the people in the loop:lmao:and don't worry about forgetting anything, I still tell my DW if we forget something I'm sure there are stores that would love to sell you anything you want. Have fun:yay:

We usually stay at Valdosta on our 3rd day down, was just curious if you were staying in the same place. Have a safe trip.:cool1:

Where do you stay in Valdosta, tell me alittle about it, we might just change our minds with the first hand info!

There's a KOA just off the interstate, Valdosta/Lake park KOA. Nice spot to stay for the night, we stayed at Tifton KOA last year on our trip down, decent place, interior roads and some sites needed some work, lots of washouts on the roads and sites, but it was just for a stop over night, little ways from the interstate.
