In 2002 we went on our first cruise which was the 3 night one on the Wonder, we enjoyed it so much we hope to go on a 7 night cruise in 2004.

My problem is I can't decide whether to go on the Eastern or Western cruise!

Hopefully so of you that have experienced the cruise can give us some guidance, I know would be great but what's your recommendations.

My recommendation is to look at the ports and see if there is any one port that you really want to go to.

Second would be to see how much time you want to spend at Sea. Eastern has 3 sea days, Western has 2 1/2 (you get into Key West at noon).

What dates work best for you - that can help you decide as well.

We've done the Eastern and loved it, we are doing the Western in 3 more weeks.

Don't think you can go wrong either way! Good luck planning and deciding.

We have done both and would do either again in a heartbeat...actually we are doing the Eastern for the third time in May....the only time we all could go. I would not care if it was Eastern or Western as long as I was on the ship!!!

I'm sure they will both be outstanding, we will also coupling it with a week at our "home" the Boardwalk Villas.

I work shifts so my vacation time is fixed each year, I will be able to do the eastern on the 24th July or the western on the 31st July.

What I would really love to do would be get on the ship on the 24th and do 14 nights! but unfortunately that won't be possible.

My preference is kinda towards the western will my dw is for the eastern, my ds is not bothered either way.

Hey Scott....I just noticed you are from Falkirk....just got done watching Braveheart and the battle at Falkirk stuck in my mind...then noticed that is where you are from!!! Small world.....

Really, I think you would be happy with either itinerary. The Eastern is very nice with those three sea days!!! And we had a ball on the Western in Grand Cayman when we did the Stingray Excursion....it really is just a personal choice. My dream one day is to do DCL cruises back to back!!!!

We (DH, DD7, DS12) did the Eastern in 2001 and just came back from Western yesterday. My preference is the Western. 7 day cruise only. The ports, I think, are just easier to maneuver and you do not get the "locals" bugging you to buy their wares - in Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel. The taxi's are there, the usual excursions, but if you just say your already set, they leave you alone! Did not find that in the Eastern ports. The docks in Key West and Cozumel are easy to utilize, and the tenders in Grand Cayman are also easy. I also liked the excursions better. Booked them myself, ahead of time, not thru Disney, and was happy with all. Just remember, everything costs money. If you stay on the ship in the ports, it's zero dollars. But is that fun? Your on vacation. Anyone want a recommendation for what I encountered, send me an e-mail. I will post a short trip report also.

Same here, mmouse37! We're doing the Eastern for the second time next May, mostly because there was a certain week we wanted to go and it just happened to be the Eastern's turn that week. Secretly, I am happy, though....mostly because we like having so many sea days! The best part for us is being on the ship!
