1day,2parks,no kids?

Is it possible to do both parks in 1 day? We will not have kids with us and we do not ride the coasters. We are staying at Disney and do not want to pay a shuttle fee for 2days if we do not have to.

If you aren't going to ride any coasters at either park, you can do both in a single day...especially w/o kids.

While I usually agree with Metro West, this time I'm not. I'm an adult who doesn't ride coasters and there's no way I've gotten both parks done in one day and saw/did everything except the coasters (except ROTM, which I do once). This is especially true if you're going during a time when the parks close at 6-7 pm or if you're going during peak season and don't have an Express Pass. I think you can certainly get quite a bit done, but I don't think, based on my experiences, that you can see/do everything in both parks in one day, even with skipping the coasters.

If you only have one day I would make a list of the rides/shows/attractions most important to you in each park and then start going through your list. Keep in mind that you can get a lot done without long lines if you get there for park opening. We were there during peak season and I found lines really didn't start to form until about 11 am and we really got a lot done in the first few hours. Once you hit your top 5 in one park I would go over the next and do your top 5 there. If you still have time left start going through your list until you run out of time.

Depends on what time of year you go. I think it is possible in 1 day if you 2 get there right at opening. My sister and her husband did it all in 1 day back in Jan. and hit just about every attraction. You'll be tired but it can be done

We were there last week with our kids and did it over 2 days-1 park a day--had we pushed it a bit we could have covered almost everything in one. We got to US day 1 right before opening and were done by 2 at the latest. No express passes needed-park was really light on attendance. Only thing we skipped was the horror make up show, due to timing.

On Day 2, we went to IOA and got express pass because it seemed more crowded and we got off to a later start. Express pass was not a must, since most stand by lines were running 40 mins tops and that is a generous calculation-they were really more like 20-30 mins in line. We only missed 2-3 things that we were just not interested in doing. You can do express pass for 2 parks in 1 day, for about $30 extra pp.

We were there the third week in August in 2007. I found that if we got to the parks when they opened the lines were 0-20 min until about 11 am. They progressively got longer through the day. By 2 pm the lines for the more popular rides (Hulk, Spiderman, Dueling Dragons, Men in Black, ROTM, etc) were anywhere from 60-120 min. Most everything else was 30-60 min.

I wonder this too. My mom and I don't lik eth ebig scary coasters (we don't really want to get wet either) and were wondering if we can do both parks in one day, at least the ride part. We may go back another day and just walk around and take some pictures. What rides do you suggest we must see? And can we get all of them in one day (the park will be open 9 - 6 the first week of May)?

We do alot of weekend trips up Saturday morning real early back Sunday night. When we do this we normally do both parks, all rides, except a few shows in the one day. Then on Sunday we sleep in and go do a couple of rides we want the most. This is DW, DS 6 years old, DW's brother 15, and me.

Sounds like us...I'm going with my two dd's (15 and 33)..no one is big into coasters, well oldest dd is but not the rest of us. If she wants to ride, she's riding solo!! We're heading over on a Wednesday, the 19th I think. Here's hoping it won't be too crowded. We'll get there for park opening (using a car service), then start at IoA, do the few things we want then head to US for the majority of the day, heading back to BWV after the park closes.

How much time does it take to walk from IOA to US? Can you even walk? I got my dh a one day 2 park pass. He loves the coasters. Can anyone give suggestions about what he should ride?

I would do IOA first and do Hulk and Spiderman and then go to US and do the others.

It takes about 10 mins to walk between parks..if that so you should have no problems getting around. As far as coasters go, make sure he rides Hulk and both sides of Dueling Dragons (Fire and Ice are not the same tracks) at IOA and RoTM at the Studios. He would also like Spiderman and Jurassic Park River Adventure as well as MIB...even though these are not coasters.

you will find the rides in the front of the park open.
think coasters to the left and seussland to the right.

if you drive, arrive at the parking garage at 7:40 if the park opens at 9 that day.

you will have such a short wait in that car line but when the garage opens at 8, you will be in and parked within minutes.
you would be at the turnstile at ioa by 8:17 then.

if you start at the studio side and let in early, not as many rides will be open at 8:30ish.
do head for the ones that are open early.

start with ioa, cover what you plan to there, then head to the other park.

to the person that stated they will be there on the 19th, i would assume there would be some crowds that day in the park.

ok these may sound like stupid questions but

a 2park 1day is it basically a park hopper or once you leave 1 park you are done with that park?

also would it be smart to

go to US first do the couple of things we want to do there then spend the rest of the day at IOA or to ride all the big coasters at IOA then head to US then back to IOA to do some things again?
