1900 Park Fare is better.....by a mile, IMHO.
Cape May Cafe is ok. We went last week again. Our son always asks about that one. However, while it used to be excellent, is is now just ordinary. It is a nice location in the Beach Club. It is quiet. But the food is nothing special. Just the standard buffet items you can find at any breakfast buffet. There used to be a day when they had Crispy Cremes and a yougurt and fresh berry bar, but those days are long gone and there is nothing unique about the food. Last week they had Goofy, Minnie, and Donald. Not sure what happened to Chip and Dale, who always used to be there. This breakfast used to be one of our favorites, but now we may pass on it because paying $90 for our family of five for ordianry food and three characters just may not be worth it to us.
Park Fare is an entirely different story. Yes, they have all the usual buffet items you can find at any location, including Cape May Cafe. But in addition they have the strawberry soup (perhaps the best food item in all of WDW), a carving staion with ham, omlettes made to order, and lobster eggs benedict. Oh, and the soft serve machine is always open. So, the food is just much better.....but so are the characters. They have Alice, Mary, Mad Hatter, Tigger, Pooh, and sometimes we've seen Eeyore. The best thing, espcially for a more adult party, is they are primarily face characters. You can actually converse with Mary, Alice and the Mad Hatter........who is absolutely rediculous. Of course, any opportunity to walk around the Grand Floridian is welcome, and if you are going to be going to the MK you are in the right spot, just a monorail stop away.
