Had to change from CM's to this because we needed to add 2 people. How is it? Did the recent refurb affect breakfast or just dinner?

DD loves Mary Poppins and Alice, so hopefully they will both be there!

Any recent reviews for this restaurant?? Thanks

We had breakfast there a few weeks ago. I was actually expecting to eat at the GF Cafe as that is where I made my ADR due to the rehab. But lo & behold the line to check in was at 1900.

We saw Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Tigger & Pooh. The character interaction was very good, especially Mary Poppins & Mad Hatter. The food was all good too--very fresh, typical breakfast fare. I did try the cold strawberry soup & thought it was quite good. The atmosphere is very nice, cheerful.

We were seated very near the buffet & sort-of under the calliope. We were right at the doors where servers & characters enter & exit the restaurant area. Several times we could see into the lounge where the characters took their breaks. There was an extra Tigger costume up on a shelf in there & DS4 kept saying that Tigger was in the refrigerator!:rotfl2:

I would go back again for this breakfast.

What was there for non-typical stuff? We're going in January and breakfast is so not my deal, I'd rather skip it but the trip isn't all about me, LOL. We did the lilo/stitch one last year at 'ohana and all I ate was the potatoes :rotfl: I'm hoping the buffet has a bit more to choose from than the traditional stuff. We're doing CP for dinner the night before, so that's out. We could do CM's but MIL really wants to see the GF (as do I!)

I don't know if I have pictures from my plate there or not--my "normal" computer isn't cooperating with the pictures on it.

I had the yummy (I thought) strawberry soup. They had potatoes--don't remember the specifics but I don't think I liked them, waffles, fresh fruit, eggs, carving station with ham & applewood bacon, regular bacon & sausage on the buffet, muffins & that type of thing. Cereal I think. I thought the applewood bacon carving was non-typical--unfortunately I was in a hurry to fill my plate before Alice got to our table, so I didn't really notice what they were carving until I was full.

Sorry--that's all I remember, but I'm sure there was more!

This is my favorite buffet so far. The atmosphere is wonderful and I love Mary Poppins :goodvibes The food was great. I thought it was more than typical breakfast fare. For me, breakfast fare is cereal :rotfl: We are going again this Dec.

I'd prefer cereal, maybe yogurt or parfaits. Eggs, bacon and all that stuff is just icky to me.
