Can you share your experiences w/ 1900 Park for dinner?

We currently have reservations at CRT, but we're thinking of cancelling. We went there on our last trip, and while we all loved it, we're trying to check out some different places for the kids. I do want a character meal though, and I'm thinking this might fit the bill.

I appreciate any of your input!

We enjoyed park fare for dinner! The buffet has lots of options and is one of the better buffets we have been too. The characters are fun- we had Cinderella, Prince Charming, the step mother and both step sisters. They were great. Step mother and sisters were very much in character :)

CRT is fun but kind of a one time thing IMO (or 2 times in our case- we are doing bfast this year, did dinner 2 years ago) :)

We love both CRT and 1900 Park fare for dinner. Honestly 1900 Park Fare was probably our best dining last year. The food on the buffet was different, much fresher than any of the other buffets we had done the entire trip. Tons of fresh salads and fruit which was a nice change from the mashed potatoes, mac and cheese etc that were on so many of the other buffets. We really needed a light fresh meal like that at the end of our trip. The step sisters were really great, they were the highlight of the meal for sure and probably the best characters we saw while at Disney.

Ok, I am going to jump in here and say the opposite of the first two posts. The food at 1900 Park Fare IMHO was not good at all and one of the worst I have encountered in WDW. I will admit I am not a big fan of the quality of buffet foodl overall, but this one was nothing to write home about. I would even put it at a level below a Golden Corral. As for the character interaction it was one of the best I have been to. The evil step mother and the step sisters were hilarious and well worth the show. I was even able to get some priceless pictures of my dd sharing a dance with Prince Charming. Beautiful restaurant, excellent character interaction, but IMHO poor food. ;)

Do you know about what time you ate there? Like I said we enjoyed it so much but I keep hearing from others similar things to what you posted. We had a very early dinner reservation, I think it was 10 minutes after dinner actually started so I'm wondering if it was good because we lucked out with being there just as they were putting the food out and everything was still fresh. I'm trying to plan our reservations for March and trying to decide if we should try to aim for another early dinner.

We had a 7:30 seating for dinner. Part of the problem was they did not do a good job of keeping up; however, I just was not impressed with the selection of foods. I guess when it comes to restaurants it's all subjective to opinion. What one may hate another may love. I have found this to be true of places I enjoy but others did not. :confused3

We ate there on our last trip in October - it was for our 10th anniversary (I thought the Happily Ever After dinner was appropriate). We really liked it - I have two picky eaters and they each enjoyed it and DH and I were happy with the selections. Lady Tremaine wasn't there that night, so that was disappointing, but the Fairy Godmother took her place, so we were okay with it. The stepsisters are a lot of fun!

I agree with this completely. Food was awful, but the characters were HILARIOUS.

Btw i personally don't think 1900 is pretty. It looks outdated and drab. Needs a facelift pronto. Lol.

We think it's the best of the character buffets. Food is the best (compared to the others) and the character interaction is defintely the best (provided the wicked step sisters are there)..

So the 1900 Park Fair dinner is one of our favorites. Although the food honestly is the same buffet food that is at EVERY buffet! Nothing too imaginative or creative - it's a buffet!

With that said it's our favorite because it's one of the few places you can spend time with Prince Charming and be able to see Lady Tramane and the sisters. We love the musical organ that plays on the hour. We love the colors in the room and the elegance of the room.

Unlike CRT you are not rushed thru the meal and you don't feel like you're sneezed into the room. 1900 Park Fair's room is good size and tables are spaced apart.

My vote is for 1900 Park Fair!!

1900 PF is a must do dinner for us! It's been a staple since I was just a little one but as the years have passed, the tradition has yet to end.

I personally think that the food is fantastic but Lady Tremaine, Drizella and Anastasia 100% make the experience. Cindy and Prince Charming can dance all the way while the Tremaine ladies have me laughing so hard I cry!

We found the food at 1900 PF to be just okay. It's a buffet, you know, I've had worse. BUT, the characters absolutely made the meal and we had a great time!!! :goodvibes

We loved dinner here! The food was great, the selection was big and the chapters were hysterical! 1900 PF was our fav for breakfast (which has gone downhill) but now I think we will go for dinner instead.

We love 1900 PF for dinner! It's one of our must do meals. We think it's much better compared to the other buffets. We've found the food to be fresher, have a large variety, offer higher end/quality food items you don't usually find on a buffet, and to be very tasty. The characters are just the icing on the cake. The stepsisters and stepmother make turn the meal into a wonderful experience. Best character interaction on property!

we had a grat meal there. Food was fine..only buffets on site that i would rate above would be something like Boma or possibly Tusker House. But dinner was nice. I think that Disney, in keeping with the GF being the Signature property wants to keep the buffet there a bit above the others...again, A BIT...don't expect to be blown away- you are paying for the characters...and I agree- this is the best. We've done most of the character meals- CP at least 6 times, CRT 3, Norway 3 or 4, Chef Mickeys , Ohanna bfast 2, Supper califagilstic bfast (also in 1900 park fare) Cape May, Garden Grill.......and yes...those crazy step sisters....they were literally down on their hands and knees barking like dogs with my girls- just simply unforgettable!
