I have booked this for xmas day (evening) and have never eaten here before. Can anybody tell me what it's like :) It is also my DH's birthday on xmas day and was wondering if I would be able to organise a cake for him to have whilst there.

My family and I are doing the dinner for the first time too. We went there for the breakfast and it was yummy, yummy, yummy.:thumbsup2

I really think they will accomodating to your birthday surprise request for your DH. We had made an arrangement at a Chef Mickey's breakfast to bring our DD a cupcake because it was her birthday. They had a birthday place mat for her too. It was so cute.:lovestruc You just have to call disney dining and they will either give you the direct phone number to 1900 park fare or they will transfer you to the restaurant.:thumbsup2

I would call the cake hotline and take a look at the official Birthday/Anniversary cake thread (here on the restaurant board). There are a ton of different options out there, I'm sure there will be one that works for you!

We have ADRs at 1900 Park Fare on our upcoming trip and are very excited! I've heard there is a lot of character interaction, great atmosphere and an extensive buffet selection. Hopefully I'll have reviews upon return!

We love 1900 PF for breakfast & dinner. It was my son's bday when we were there. They brought him a large cupcake and sang to him. Characters from Cinderella are there at dinner. My kids loved it.

We just ate here last night and it was excellent. Really great food as well as character interaction. The last time we ate here we had horrible service(we had eaten here 3 other times and had great service) so we were reluctant to try it again but it was DD's birthday and this is where she wanted to eat. I am glad we gave it another chance and it was great! They sang to my DD and she got a cupcake as well as a placemat signed by the characters. We all really enjoyed it.

We have eaten there for both breakfast and dinner and enjoyed both. Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters were all there at dinner. The Stepsisters are quite entertaining.
Since this is a buffet, I would probably just call the restaurant, tell them it is your DH's birthday and ask them to bring over a cupcake. We celebrated my DD's birthday at Chef Mickey's and I ordered a cake, but there were so many good desserts to choose from on the buffet, that I don't think the cake was really necessary. You might feel the same way about 1900 PF since it is a buffet too.

Yes, I would just have it noted on your reservation that it is your DHs bday. Unless you really want a cake. There are so many desserts there, the cupcake should be fine. I'm sure he will love being sung to also!!!!:dance3:

1900 is great for dinner. We ate there in december 07 and may 07 and loved it both times. The food is great and so are the characters, I think you will have a great time!!
