We wanted our first dinner here to be magical with 5y/o twin DDs. Arrived 15" before 6:40 ADR - Grand Floridian was amazing - Photopass photographer in front of tree helped pass time. Checked at 7:15 and were told "soon" Finally seated at 7:30. Girls were hungry and tired. Sandy our server was very nice. Here is the problem - the food was horrible, I ended up with the roast beef from the carving station. Salads were just too 'fancy' , the Asian choices were geared to very specific taste preferences. The Italian pasta meal was very dry. We didn't starve but the characters just didn't make it for us. It was very loud; there were no antics from the stepsisters and honestly the stepmother might have been too much in character. She was a younger woman (why can Disney cast an older woman for that job - I would take the job) She was not mean but more snobby to the girls. We did ask Anastasia if she had a boyfriend yet and she made some nice conversation but all of them just said - let's get our picture taken. I will also be going to the Akerhaus breakfast and to the Castle - I will compare the Princess experience when done. This is our experience and my opinion - we are glad we tried it but really thought the food was lacking. Something for everyone I am sure.............

We had the same experience in November. Characters were fun. Food, for the price, was absolutely disappointing. Desserts were good. I find that some of the less expensive Disney dining have the best food! Oh well, good to do once .... but never again.

We were at the dinner on 12-4. We found the food to not be very good also. We of course were seated at the very last table down a hallway right in the lobby pretty much. The characters had minimal interaction, and we had to wait quite a long time after our scheduled reservation. We wanted to try a new place, and this is one place I will not return to. I really enjoyed the Askerhaus breakfast with the princesses much better.

Was there anything good? We have ADRs there for January. Maybe I should switch it? Ideas?

We were there in Feb, and I would have to agree. Food was terrible, yet character interaction was great. There was really nothing for DS4 to eat. He is a picky eater, but give him a decent slice of pizza or chicken finger and he will be happy. None of this was to be found there. My husband and I were both frustrated with the lack of good food for us to eat as well.

My only suggestion would be to try breakfast, but there you wouldn't get the experience of the Stepmother and Stepsisters. They were a hoot, so it's a realy shame the food was no good.

We're eating brunch there in January so the food will be a whole other issue.

I wonder though if the quality of the food was bad or it just wasn't your type of food. Do you typically enjoy fancy salads and Asian-inspired food? If not, then maybe it was just an issue with preference. I have no idea though having not eaten there before but I think the menu looks pretty good.
