Which would you choose? CRT breakfast or dinner at 1900?

After spending a few hours here this morning reading about how hard the ressies are for getting CRT for breakfast...I decided to check out 1900 Park Fare for dinner - since Cinderella is the key for us! ;) Ok...for me! :lovestruc

We (DH, Me, DD3, & DD7) are going in August - and will be there for my birthday. I was determined to eat at CRT for breakfast on my b-day...but I'm now wondering if I shouldn't be so stubborn. :snooty::rotfl:

It's a complete switch from a breakfast plan to dinner, which is fine. I'm thinking that getting up early on my b-day might not be so fun. And sure...it's not eating in the castle - which I think my girls might find really neat but...meeting Cinderella and her crew (not just other princesses) might be even more enjoyable.

Ack!!!:scared1: I need some opinions on this...please? I'm getting close (OK..a few weeks) for my window! Advice? Info? Anything???

Thank you so much in advance!
Cindy

(and yes, that is my real name!)princess:

I've done both and much prefer CRT. There was more character interaction at 1900 PF, but it wasn't always good interaction. I like the food better at CRT, too.:goodvibes

We have been to both and thought 1900 Fare was much more fun. We took my 6 yr. old niece there and she at the time was terrified of characters with mask on. :scared: But she wanted to see Cinderalla and Prince Charming.

So as soon as the mices came around, (sorry don't know their names, they were so cute in their dresses) I whispered that my niece is afraid of mask characters so please don't approach her. They understood and started to just pet my head and giggle. To my shock...my niece got up from the table and gave them a big hug. That was a Magical moment!!! :wizard:

Then we were got up to get our food at the buffet and when we came back to our table...Prince Charming was waiting there for my niece. She just lighted up. He could have skipped our empty table but he did not...then he was joined by Cinderalla at our table. Talk about Dreams come true for a little 6 yr. old.

After our 10 day vacation was over, I asked my niece what was her favorite part. Can you guess...eating at 1900 because of the Mices, Cinderalla and Prince Charming. princess:

The service and attention at CRT was not the same quality that we got at 1900.

My personal preference would be 1900 PF. Though please recognize I am in the minority for my family who will only go there to appease me. I enjoy the food, I enjoy the characters and I enjoy looking at all those beautiful fresh floral arrangements scattered through the resort.

I like 1900 PF better also. We like buffets and this one is pretty good. The kids like being able to get up, move around and choose their own food.

We've done both CRT brkfst & 1900 dinner. IMO, CRT would be much more of a special meal for your b-day than 1900. I would try for CRT brkfst on your b-day, but if you can't get it then I would do 1900.

CRT Pros: eating in castle - very magical, nice atmosphere
food pretty good featuring french toast stuffed w/cream cheese
in MK - won't have to leave park if it's an MK day for you

CRT Cons: 2 TS meal - will cost you more than 1900
character interaction good but a little rushed

1900 Pros: characters - stepsisters very funny! good interaction

1900 Cons: food - ok but wouldn't go there if no characters
will have to leave park to get there

We do lunch at CRT each trip and we did do dinner at 1900 last trip.

CRT:
Lunch food is always very good, I was waited on, servers are excellent and never rushed us. Atmosphere great, room fairly quiet, enough time with each Princess and of course being in castle and in park. Being a sitdown of a "royal" nature kids in restaurant stay seated and well behaved overall. Downside is the cost, sometimes the wait downstairs to be seated (depends on your reserve time), and if breakfast - you might have to get up early, and lose park time.

1900:
The character interaction was excellent, loved the "theme" of Cindy, sisters and gang, sisters and step are a hoot !, food was fine - plenty to choose from, never rushed and was a timeframe I wasn't giving up park time. Downside is (and we tried breakfast there as well and it was the same) it was very loud (no inside voices), it is buffet so I am waiting on myself, because of buffet - the nature it lends to is that parents let their kids run all over the place.

I will continue to return to CRT each trip for lunch ......... not so sure I will go back to 1900 unless they change characters or I have DDP and need to use a meal up. BUT we go often, see characters often, and I am more inclined these days to pick for a more quiet, wait on me kind of meal :)

(NOTE: I no longer have little ones in my party).

I totally got sidetracked reading BellaSoleil's Trip Report! :rotfl: Great report BTW!

Anyhow......I think I'm going to shoot for CRT breakfast ressies first and then if I don't get them for on my b-day, I'll check for dinner at Park Fare for that day.

Love the replies and opinions...keep them coming!

We've done lunch at CRT and it was very good, not sure I would do it again though.

We've done 1900 twice, both times we thoroughly enjoyed it! :lovestruc

But since it's for a birthday celebration, I would say CRT. :thumbsup2

we did breakfast at CRT and really enjoyed it. My daughters had so much fun! It was neat being in the castle! We are going to try for lunch in sept. What characters are at 1900 park fare dinner?? Sounds like my daughters may enjoy it too!

I vote for 1900 PF. This has been a must do for us for years.
CRT has so so food at best and they really rush you out the door.

Saying that , the castle does provide unbeatable atmosphere.

Hmmm...try both !!!! :goodvibes

This is a question I've been deciding about as well. Thanks for the thread and all the honest replies, however I think I'm even more torn!!:scratchin
