Hi there! :sunny:

My daughter will be celebrating her 4th bday while we are at WDW in June. We'd like to do a character dinner for her and we've done Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table and Hoop Dee Doo in the past. We're looking for something different. The only other thought I had was maybe Liberty Tree Tavern because we haven't done that one or 1900 Park Fare. We'll be at MK all day, so either is convenient.

What would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!!!

Amy

We're going to Park Fare for Breakfast in February. We liked the dinner. As of now it has Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins, I THINK.

However, Park Fare is supposed to change to having Tinkerbell and other Fairies. I'm not sure when this change is occurring but I think it will before June.

We loved 1900 Park Fair. My DD5 and my Dniece3 had a wonderful time. They loved all the characters - Cinderella, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother, Suzy and Perla.
Also, I mentioned that it was my FIL's b'day (67), and they brought him a cupcake with a candle and a crown for a prince. It was a pretty nice plastic one that we brought home with us. I didn't see anyone else celebrating a birthday but we were there early.
Food was very good. I would definitely recommend it.

Character change for Breakfast or Dinner? Where did you hear this?

Character change for breakfast. I've read it here and several other places.

I'm glad to hear good things about the dinner and Character experience. We will be there for dinner in 13 days. I have a boy but out of all the character meals, the only autograph he didn't have was the prince and the fairy godmother - so he picked this one. I am really looking forward to it. Also in seeing the GF because we have only stayed in the value resorts.

We love 1900 PF, but haven't celebrated a birthday there. I'm sure it would be great.

We have, however celebrated a birthday at LTT and it was GREAT. They ring a big bell and announce the birthday to the whole restaurant. All of the characters came over when it was announced. It was a great place to have a birthday.

I'm sure whichever you choose will be fabulous.

We celebrated DD8s birthday there, they are super nice! Both my girls got tiaras (older DD is 10 now), DD8 got a nice autographed placemat that is laminated and a cupcake presented by prince Charming. We were staying at the GF for that trip, Cindy also sent up an autographed picture for both girls and a lovely GF decorated chocolate bar. Top that off with a comp upgrade to lagoon/castle view and it was a super-magical trip. IMO, 1900's buffets are some of the best onsite.

Last September we celebrated DS's 4th birthday - we had breakfast at 1900 and it was wonderful - he got the prince crown, a cupcake with the candle and an autographed placemat. The server got the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday to him, and he got lots of attention from Tigger and Pooh (not b/c of the birthday) and I think he has a crush on Alice now... ;)

Liberty Tree Tavern was the place we went for lunch and it was fantastic!!! I had preordered a cake for him as a surprise and they did ring a bell and announce to the restaurant that "Master Max" was celebrating his 4th birthday. Before we were seated they sprinkled the table with the Mickey pixie dust and curled ribbons...he loved it.

No matter where you go, make sure you tell them it is your child's birthday. We did that a lot and every time DS said "this is the BEST birthday EVER!" it just warmed my heart.

Enjoy your trip!!!

We'll be celebrating my DD's 3rd birthday there in June as well. On June 25th to be exact. We're doing the dinner. I've never been to that restaurant, but have heard a lot of nice things about it. I will be ordering a birthday cake a few days in advance and have them bring it out. I'm also making her the cutest t shirt and (if the restaurant allows it) will be around 3 balloons to tie to her chair, too. If your DD likes Cinderella she should love it. I wanted to do the dinner so we could do the cake too and we won't be at a park that day. If there was a Toy Story character meal at MGM (rumor has it there might be) we would do her birthday there, because Buzz and Woody are her all time favorites with the Princesses a close second. I say..go to where you think she would like it the most.

My DD and I (and probably a friend of hers) will be going to 1900 Park Fare on 3/5 for my her 9th (OMG - she's going to be nine) birthday which is on the 4th. I am so excited, as the usual characters are Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, etc.

We have done Chef Mickey, and will do it again in April with my great nephew, and we are doing the Princess b-fast in Norway with some out of town friends in a couple weeks.

I am also going to set up an ADR for CRT - just not sure if I want to do breakfast or lunch. When I called today for breakfast in May, I realized it is a pay in advance meal, so I am waiting until later this month until I get the holiday bills under control! Since we live here I am much more flexible with my times, and this won't be for a special occasion. I am trying to do more of these types of things in 2006.

I even made a one night ressie at the Beach Club for my birthday treat in Feb. DD saw the pool on Friday when we visited the resort to see the choc. carousel, and has talked of little else! I'm getting in for the short period of value rates before they go back up for Pres Day! I can't wait to experience the Clam Bake at the Cape May Cafe.

Spending so much time on the Disboards is costing me $$$$! LOL - it's fun to be experiencing some new Disney Magic!

Thanks for the advice, everyone! :goodvibes

We decided to try the 1900 Park Fare for her bday dinner and made a reservation last night. We haven't seen Prince Charming yet and I think that would definitely be a highlight for her.

Maybe we'll squeeze LTT in sometime too because we still want to try it.

Thanks again!

Amy
