If you were choosing between the breakfast or the dinner at 1900 Park Fare - which would you choose? Mainly, based on the character interaction. My girls like princesses, but Cinderella is not the absolute favorite. Which has more fun character action - breakfast or dinner?

I'm getting ready to do this meal for the first time myself, as this is the first year that my dd is really interested in "face" characters. We decided on dinner because of the reviews I read. It seems that Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters really seem to put on a show and play their parts well. I'm excited to go and see! :rotfl:

My DD wasn't quite 2 yet and she really liked both the breakfast and the dinner. The characters at the dinner (Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella) are def. more entertaining, however, if your daughters don't know the Cinderella story and aren't familiar with the characters, I would say go to the breakfast. The characters that were at breakfast when we went include Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger. This is more of a random grouping, but she liked these characters too.

Dinner will be more fun because there are more face characters goofing off - Anastasia is hilarious.

For breakfast, all of the antics fall to the Mad Hatter. He is great, but it's pretty much him for the "fun" stuff. Tigger usually does some stuff, but he's a little more limited since he doesn't speak.

I picked the 1900 Park Fare for dinner this August with the kiddies..mainly because it is makes more sense if you are on the dining plan..more cost efficient...also because we are doing Chef Mickey's, Whispering Canyon and O'hana's for breakfast..I wanted to do a character meal for dinner and I felt this one had the best reviews....O'hana's is good for dinner but we did it in November on our last trip...have fun! :thumbsup2

We've only had dinner at Park Fare, so I can't compare it directly to the breakfast. But I can say that our dinner at PF (concerning character interaction) was the best in all of WDW hands down! The step family is hilarious. We had so much fun with them! We had seen them earlier in the day doing a meet & greet behind the castle, and then we saw them again that night at PF. We couldn't get enough of them. They are the absolute best!! I would choose PF dinner even if they were the only characters there, but I have to say that I really liked Cinderella and Prince Charming, too. There's no other character meal that I'm aware of that you can see a princess and her prince together. So for that reason, too, we liked it. But the step family alone is a reason not to miss the dinner. So if you have to choose just one ;), I say go for dinner! I promise you'll love it!!

We've grown less and less impressed with the food over the years. They can't seem to make up their mind on a theme. I think it's a partial Asian-part something else now. We definitely don't go for the food any more - it's for the characters and convenience (we stay at the GF). The food is edible to where we don't go hungry. But it's not what keeps us coming back.

The dessert offerings are still decent.

I have eaten at both meals several of times. I enjoy them both but would pick Breakfast over dinner there. Alice and the Mad Hatter make a great pair and provide loads of entertainment. Alice explained to my daughter the importance of eating breakfast and then fell to the floor to show her what happens when your energy levels get low. My daughter has not stopped talking about this! She requests this meal at every visit.

Now about the food...it was your typical buffet food with the exception of a few additions that made it unique to the Grand Floridian. For example, (prior to the renovation) they use to include the Strawberry soup on the breakfast buffet along with the dinner one. The soup is super yummy and entices me to keep going back.:cheer2:

The strawberry soup is still available at breakfast.

I think the bread pudding is available at both meals too.

We have in the past had both breakfast and dinner at 1900 PF. We have found that breakfast had a better character interaction then dinner did. Both of the meals were fantastic no complaints on the food from me. Also, service at both were top notch (fast, friendly, and fun)

Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare is great. Alice and the Mad Hatter are hilarious. Pooh and Tigger stopped by our table twice and Mary Poppins was very sweet. We're going back for breakfast in August and are trying the dinner.

I've done breakfast here and we enjoyed it. This trip we are trying the dinner because of my best friends daughter who loves princess--so meeting Cindy and her prince would be great for her!
I hear the food is pretty decent...so we are giving it a go.

Comicguy- which characters were at the dinner when you went? I know that they recently changed it to Cinderella's step-mother and step-sisters as opposed to her fairy godmothr, Suzy and Perla. Which did you see? Just wondering, since I've heard incredible things about the interaction with the new characters.

Gotta be honest, we ate dinner last year at the PF and honestly, it literally was the worst meal I have ever eaten out in my life.

First, for a family of four (two adults and two kids) it was over $100 and the food was god awful, I mean close to inedible.

Second, the characters were very enjoyable and my kids had a great time (they didn't care too much for the food either) but even if Jesus Christ himself made an appearance, it still wouldn't have made up for the terrible quality of the food.

Now do get me wrong, I have never had a problem with Disney food, in fact I love Chef Mickey's, I just found PF to be a disaster.

I am trying to decide between taking my 3 year old daughter to breakfast with Cinderella at the castle or dinner with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare for her birthday. Does anyone recommend one over the other? I've done the breakfast with my husband at the castle but I hear that the dinner at 1900 is cute. HELP!!

Having done CRT breakfast in November and 1900 just last week, here's my opinion: it depends on what kind of interaction you want with Cinderella. At the castle, she only greets when you come into the castle. Your child gets a brief one on one before the official photo and then up you go to your meal.

The SAME Cinderella appeared at our 1900 PF dinner last week, and she came to the table to do a little meet and greet, and she also does a little waltz with Prince Charming and some interaction with the stepsisters. It's quite cute. The nice thing about 1900 is that she and the other characters make more than one pass by the tables if you time your dinner right. She came by our table twice, and that is nice if your child suddenly remembers she has to tell Cinderella something, etc. At our dinner, Cinderella chose a little "prince" to dance with. A-dor-able.

The stepmother by far is the whole reason for the season. She is hands down the funniest character at the dinner. Lady Tremaine has just the right touch of sarcasm and wit. We enjoyed her immensely. We also told Anastasia we loved her dress color and she whispered back, "I know, thanks, didja see her in that blue...uhhh-SO washed out!!" :lmao: They definitely play off of your comments and are very "on."

I was not impressed with 1900's dinner fare back in '05 but last week, I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, a few salads have an Asian flare, but they were delicious-- I went up twice for the very yummy edamame salad. There were plenty of traditional choices and such a great variety--I really have to put it right up there with CP's offerings. There were 2 meats at the carving station, and a number of pasta and chicken selections. The desserts were wonderful.

We visited PF 4 years ago and I agree the food was terrible as was the service. We had over 8 people in our party and the waiter knew he was getting an automatic gratuity. I thought the Characters were wonderful though--so I would definitely do it again just for the characters.

We all loved Crystal Palace w. Pooh and friends--good food and lunch time has some great prices. Loved the character interaction there.
