This is our current dining schedule, all have been booked so far. However my dd2 is in love with princesses and i didn't book a princess meal. I'm not super crazy about the meals at cinderella's royal table. But what about the one at 1900 park fare? Anyone done it? Or is there another princess meal that you like better?

Which would you swap out for the princess meal:

11/15 Mickeys Backyard BBQ 6:30
11/16 Chef Mickeys 10:00
11/17 Play and Dine at Hollyood and Vine 12:25
11/18 Garden Grill (epcot) 6:25
11/19 Spirit of Aloha 5:15
11/20 LeCellier 6:20
11/21 Boma Animal Kingdom 5:10

We loved 1900 Park Fare dinner!! Great character interaction and delicious food. They have different stations at the buffet, each representing a different country or cuisine. There was France, Italy, Asia, and a seafood section. Great caesar salad, and a wonderful dessert display too. And the prime rib was delicious!

I don't know which one you should swap...what I could tell you was this...we loved Boma, but both had terrible heartburn that night I think because we are not used to the spices they use. But do keep in mind that DH and I have extremely sensitive stomachs and get heartburn more often than the average person. So for us, even though the food was EXCELLENT at Boma, we probably won't return there in the future.

We ate breakfast there last Dec and it was so good that my husband insisted that we do it again in Nov.

1900 Park Fare has a great dinner buffet. We ate there during our Memorial Day trip and saw Cinderella, Prince Charming, the stepmother (Lady Tremaine), and stepsisters (Anastasia and Drizella). The meal was very good and the characters were great! It may not be what I would consider a true "princess meal" due to the interaction from the stepmother and stepsisters. I also don't know how your DD is, but they were VERY loud...yelling across restaurant at each other, etc. My DD7 and nieces LOVED it though!
I would also recommend you check out the Princess Storybook meal at Akershus in Epcot. We did a lunch there so that DD7 could see "Ariel with legs" and the characters were great. The food was not my cup of tea, but the meal was to see the characters (IMHO). ;)
Good luck with your planning!:goodvibes

We did the dinner buffet and it was excellent. My DD saw Cinderella, and the Fairy Godmother- that made her day! The food was great. I am a vegetarian and there were even things for me to eat... which is rare! The atmosphere is lovely and the characters were not rushed. We will definitely eat there again.

Our little girl in head over heals with anything princess right now. We knew we had to have one character meal with them. When we were deciding about it I didn't realize that the one in EPCOT had american food for breakfast. But she was also more :cloud9: over Cinderella than the others at the time so we opted for the dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

We were originally going to try to get reservations for CRT but the food choices weren't appealing to DH. So we decided to wait til DD was a little older.

As far as which one you should swap, I'm not sure. I know that LeCellier is one I wouldn't give up and we haven't even eaten there. I want to try it next time though. Good luck deciding.

Hi
We don't eat meat either. Do you remember what foods they had that were good? Any good pasta dishes? Thanks!!

Do you know if you can get autographs there? Do they come around to your tables like at Crystal palace? I loved on youtube and found a bunch of videos that shows what they do. Looks like cinderella and prince charming dance and the step sisters are a comedy act!

When we went in April of 96 we did:

Breakfast: Epcot - Ashkerus (sp?) All Princesses & very good food.

Lunch: Castle - a Princess or 2 (or 3), Wendy (from Peter Pan), Mary
Poppins, etc. & food was too fancy for us & small portions

Supper: 1900 Park Fair - all Cinderella (Cindy, Prince, Mice, Fairy Godmother)
Buffet of everything. I liked it, not the best but a
big variety!

Not all in 1 day of course, but spread it out. Castle way too high priced, but glad we did it once. If she likes princesses - I would say the Epcot one & I think they have more then just breakfast - thats just what we chose. But Epcot diffinately had the most princesses, all the others were a mix or just Cinderella.

We have been to 1900 for breakfast and dinner and we enjoy both infact when we were there in Feb my dd was picked as the princess of the day and they let her open the dining room and when the doors opened cindy and prince charming greeted her and walked her to our table and prince charming seated her. We have been to breakfast at Akershus but never dinner I tried for Feb but my mom didn't want to eat there so we didn't. Have a great trip.

i would definately swap out Mickey's BYBBQ. We really weren' that impressed. The entertainment is an experience so that was worth it but the food is terrible. Only thing decent is the ice cream for dessert!!

1900 PF is one of our favorite restaurants. Definately try to get there.

I would recommend Askershus to anyone with a little girl!! Although the princesses change, and nothing can be set in stone as to who will be dining with you, this past June we had Belle as our greeter, along with Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Ariel and Cinderella. All of the princesses were SO friendly and made our meal so magical. Two of my nieces were extremely into all of the princesses so this meal was just perfect for us!! The food was a little "different" but everyone enjoyed what they ordered and the experience was well worth the money!

Im not sure which place to tell you to switch out for a meal with a princess. I have heard some not-so-great reviews of Mickeys BBQ but i've never been there myself to say one way or another.

During two trips we've been to CRT for lunch, Akershus for breakfast and 1900PF sor dinner, the latest one was big dissapointment, the food was ok, everyone's fav was the strawberry soup, the rest of buffet food was kinda of cold and service was just ok. At Akershus food was good, service great and plenty of characters but for us CRT was the best...my little daughter just love's going in the castle to see Cinderella.
At 1900PF Cinderella never made it to our table and we sat there forever waiting for our waiter to tell him but eventually got tired and left. My daughter did dance with the prince there and saw Cinderella dancing too but she had a much better time at CRT.

I would bump Mickey's BBQ and add 1900 PF. Or even Norway for Breakfast. Lots of Princesses there! The BBQ is a little hectic although we did think the food was good and that there was plenty of it. The characters dance in the center, if your little one is reserved this may be intimidating for her. They do not come to the table. 1900 PF has a nice breakfast lineup, Pooh and Tigger were there along with Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. Dinner had Cinderella and Prince Charming. The Stepsisters and Lady Tremaine were there as well and were a hoot. They were not scary.

I too have heard mixed reviews o nthe Backyard BBQ and considered it ofr our last trip, but went another route then. Plus I think it took tow credits from the dining plan and heard it wasn't worth it. But we also ate at the Garden Grill. We didn't think the food was all that great. Just OK. Characters were great though. But I don't think it will be on our list next time.
We enjoyed 1900PF alot. DD was all set to see Prince Charming and told us he was the only person she would smile for. When he came, he spun her around and hugged her and she was so excited. We had the latest seating and our table was the last that Cinderella came to. She took alot of time with DD and told her what a beautiful Princess she was, etc. We will try this one again, but next time I want to try Arkerhuas too and see what that is like, and of course someday we would like to eat in the castle too, but the menu looks horrid. Breakfeast wouldn;t be bnad, but DD sleeps in, so we try not to schedule those and let her get as much sleep as possible.

We (Dw-Ds & I) did MBYBBQ a couple of years ago. Overall, it was average. The food was "ok"...nothing special. The entertainment was also a bit of a disappointment. The characters tried to visit the tables, but were constantly mobbed by kids! They did do a few "song and dance" routines where the kids gathered by the stage, but this too was not outstanding.
Finally, the bugs the night we were there were horrible! And we were there in October!! Needless to say, we would not go back.
We did do a breakfast buffet at 1900 Park Faire and enjoyed it. I hope that this helps...:wizard:

We have done breakfast at the Castle with Cinderella which was really cool. There is a meet and greet with Cindy (that's what my DD3 calls her) and then a yummy breakfast. We have also done breakfast at Akershush. This was one of my favorites. The food was great. The funny part about this is that it was only my DH and I. We had a blast hanging out with the princesses and acting like kids. We are taking our kids this coming September and I have chosen to do 1900 Park Fare over the castle. I think it will be more interactive and there will be more characters there. My DD LOVES Cinderella so she will get a kick out of it I'm sure.

As for your other planned meals, Boma is our favorite place to eat. It's definitely different food, some that the kiddos might not like. There is a kids food section with all the staples...chicken nuggets, mac and cheese. AKL is just a cool place to visit. They will love the animals.

Le Cellier is an awesome restaurant but probably one of the least kid friendly restaurants at Disney. Don't get me wrong, kids are def welcomed. It's just that kind of dark atmosphere with not much to entertain the kids. Good luck and have a great trip!!!

Wow, what a great lineup!

Thanks to everyone on the info here. We're also considering a 1900 reservation for our first night in the World. I'd say you've convinced me. DD (6) is going to love it, what a great kick off!

I booked Akershus, 1900PF for dinner and CRT because my girls LOVE the Princesses (Cinderella and Aurora) so this is going to make their whole trip (and mine just seeing their faces!!)

I too vote for dropping Mickey's BYBBQ. If you are on the dining plan, you regain 2 dining credits that way. You could do Princess Breakfast or Lunch at Akershus in Norway and you could do 1900 Park Fare for dinner!! Get 2 for 1 that way. The food at the BBQ is basic barbecue. You are already going to have the character meal with Mickey at Garden Grill...so since DD is in love with Princesses, you could actually do two meals with Princesses, still keep your husband's request of eating at Boma and everyone gets their needs met. Good luck and have a great trip.
