We are planning a trip to Disney for our daughter's 4th birthday in September. This will be her first time at Disney. She is a huge Alice (actually, more so Queen of Hearts) fan so we were so excited to find out she is at this character dining experience. My question is this: Do they change the characters without notification. The only reason we want to eat here is because of Alice and the Mad Hatter. I would hate to make reservations and then get there and it's not the characters we thought. It is so difficult to find Alice stuff and my daughter just isn't really into the princesses.

Any tips or info about this dining experience is welcomed and much appreciated!

We went in Dec 2010 and Aug 2011 ... both times Alice and the Mad Hatter were present. I think the whole not being able to guarantee characters comes down to last minute issues. i.e. if everyone they have who can play Alice is sick, unable to come in or tied up in other appearances- they might swap in a different character. I think the odds of this happening are pretty slim, but the reality is - you never know.

We have had breakfast there 3 times and Alice and the Mad Hatter were there every time. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

The Mad Hatter usually steals the show. It's a fun, crazy character to play and they always get someone with a lot of talent and charisma to play his character.

Thanks so much for the replies, everyone! My daughter is going to be so excited! I think we might just bring along last year's Halloween constume (Queen of Hearts) for her to wear!!! She is going to be over-the-moon!:thumbsup2

I've been there twice both times mostly for my daughter to see Cinderella. Both times she was there! Once with Prince Charming, the mice, the Fairy Godmother and Alice. Alice was amazing! My son was 3 1/2 at the time, she could see he wasnt very thrilled about the whole princess thing. She gave him a mini croquet set and the played underneath the table. She even got him whispering to her. It was too loud for me to hear exactly what they were saying but I did get a few pics. It is one of those Disney moments I will never forget. The second time the only change was Mary Poppins was added to the cast of characters. Who was also so great, she checked to see if there hands were clean enough! LOL She actually made them a little nevrous; which was amusing for me. This was by far our best character encounter. ENJOY!

I was there on Feb 25th for breakfast and it was the first time we had been there without the Mad Hatter! Alice was there along with Mary Poppins, Pooh and Tigger. We were disappointed, but it was still a good meal. Occasionally it happens where one of the regulars isn't there.

Every time we go to Florida we have breakfast at the Grand Floridian. Alice has been there on all occasions. :) it's a fantastic experience there, amazing! good choice for breakfast :)

Dinner is great there! We went there because all the other character dinners were full. I have two boys and thought they would be so bored, but we wanted a good dinner. They had a great time with Cinderella and the stepsisters! My boys enjoyed giving Cinderella kisses on her cheek! It was cute! The food was fabulous! Best of all the ones we've tried! (Chef Mickey, Garden Grill, Cape May, Hollywood and Vine).
:goodvibes

She will love 1900 Park Fare, its so fun. If she loves Alice you might also look into the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party they have there. We took our daughter to it a few years ago and she stills talks about it. :goodvibes
