I know this is all relative and our mileage may vary, but this is the only ADR I am still on the fence about keeping so am looking for thoughts. We are 2 adults, with a 6 year old girl and 3 year old boy. We are staying at the Poly, so it will be a short monorail ride away, however it will eat up our morning and then we are planning to go to Epcot (which I know is a bit of a haul from the GF). We also have the Plaza Garden Party that night, so I'm thinking about not having an ADR at all that day to keep us from being on too tight of a schedule.

Other character ADR's we have for reference:

Bon Voyage Breakfast
Tusker House Breakfast (ROL)
Ohana Breakfast
BOG Dinner
CRT Lunch

I kind of wanted to go to the GF to see the chocolate egg display (we will be there Easter week) and thought we could combine the two... but we possibly could just stroll over on another evening and maybe have dinner at the GF cafe.

I don't know... is this on your can't miss list?

Thank you all.

I’m curious what others thought about breakfast too. We did the dinner a few years ago and it was just meh. But the characters were awesome.

The characters were awesome. We were able to meet Alice and Pooh, our favorite characters. That doesn't happen everywhere.

Breakfast, for us at least, was secondary. It was okay. Normal breakfast fare. Honestly, nothing stood out.

It’s my favorite WDW breakfast!

Everything as a whole makes it awesome—the characters, food, and atmosphere. The Mad Hatter is a hoot! And it’s a jolly holiday with Mary; Mary makes you feel so light. ;)

The omelette/eggs to order station is very nice, smoked salmon is excellent with all the trimmings, plus strawberry soup. :cloud9:

We did it a couple years ago and thought it was just okay. The food was fine, but nothing special. The Mad Hatter was hilarious, but the day we were there, the other characters were very lackluster.

I have done all of the character meals on property except for Garden Grill, at least once. 1900 Park Fare breakfast was my absolutely LEAST favorite. In fairness, we waited almost an hour after our 'reservation' time so I think that played a big part in my irritation. The food was meh and the characters were fine. I think if you really want to meet those particular characters keep it - if not forget it!

I'm just curious - are you doing all of those character meals in one trip? That is a lot.... Character meals are time consuming and frankly a bit stressful.

Are you doing breakfast at GF, Epcot and then going to MK for dessert party (?) If that is your plan, I would 100% cancel 1900 Park Fare. Eat at Epcot instead! There are a great QS and sit down options there.... and way less going back and forth with young kiddos.

We actually liked the 1900 Park Fare breakfast a lot (and thought it was lightyears better than the 'Ohana character breakfast!) . It's a really pretty, short walk from the Poly to the GF. The food was nicely varied, and everyone left happy. The characters were also sufficiently different from the other character meals that we did (i.e., no princesses or Fab 5) that we thought it was worthwhile. We loved the Mad Hatter, but all of the characters were really sweet! I don't know that it's worth complicating plans, though, and despise the two monorail transfer to Epcot. :) Your other character meals are all ones we also really liked - minus the 'Ohana breakfast which was gross and took forever.

Just did it on Jan 1. With twin DDs-18, DH, our friends and their kids (16, 12 and 9). We really really loved it. Great food. Not loud or crowded. Great great character interactions....they were so funny. My DDs begged to go back again on that same trip. One DD said the chicken tenders were the best ever. I would highly recommend doing it.

We did Ohana breakfast a couple years ago and were not stoked about that one. Food was really average. It was busy and loud and characters just bopped over real quick.

1900: it’s charming setting, juice is excellent, omelette station is great but slow (with kids it’s tough - who’s watching kids while u wait for an omelette? And what character meeting did you just miss getting a pic with?), and rest of food is good quality. Characters are ho-hum. Do your kids know who the mad hatter, Alice, or Mary poplins are? If no then it’s a waste like it was on ours.

FYI bog dinner is not character meal - you get a pic with the beast on your way out but no autographs. If you want another character meal swap this for garden grill where you don’t have to be up and down getting 3 plates of food all meal - like Ohana they bring you all u can eat to you.

Yep, but we are spaced out over 8 days and only one ADR per day. We wanted to do many this trip when our kids will enjoy them most at a younger age, and also we are counting on the parks being crazy so don't plan on getting many rides in. Next trip when they are older and we can go more park commando we'll do less if any. :) I also was thinking of canceling 1900 since it is a get up and get your own food. I know Tusker is but we'll manage for one buffet and wanted the ROL package.

I knew that thanks, I was still considering it a meet a character meal but I get it is a different format.

I went with my gut and your thoughts too and canceled. I was able to move our FP's up and now we'll have a good buffer and break between an Epcot morning and a MK evening. I'm sorry to hear O'hana breakfast might be questionable, but since we're staying at Poly are considering it a must try. If we weren't there we probably would skip.

Thanks all!!

We did it just to meet the Mad Hatter. My DD needed his signature in her book. He was a no-show :(

The Eggs Benedict were acceptable, if you got them just as they hit the buffet, so the yoke wasn’t too awful hard, mine were poached medium-med well, which is better then hard.

My daughter likes the soup they have, and enjoyed the breakfast pizza, so it wasn’t a total loss.

The food is ok. I like the strawberry soup, one of the reasons I agreed to try the breakfast buffet. The Mad Hatter was great and Tigger was good too. I wouldn't do this buffet again. I don't enjoy busy buffets especially breakfast.

Haven't done it yet, but would like to try it eventually. For those who say the atmosphere is great, just curious to know what makes it great? From the pictures, it looks almost institutional, like a nursing home dining room.

I also would recommend going to Garden Grill since you are already planning an Epcot day. Character interaction is great, and it doesn't look like you have any other meals scheduled with Chip and Dale. I like that the food is served family style, and starts with a nice bowl of fruit salad.

It is decorated with a lot of whites and feels bright and happy.

The staff is great, and just being in the Grand Flo to start the day is special.
