I just called yesterday and was a day behind. I got the exact time I wanted. If you wait until about 7:30 you will be on hold for a while so I would suggest calling as close to 7 as possible or call back later in the afternoon around 3:30 - 4 pm before everyone gets home from work. (This is when I called)
Good luck!
I don't think you need to be on the phone at 7 am - but it is becoming a more popular location. Last year I had no problem getting in anytime we headed over to WDW, this year it was a little different!
I agree with the others....................do not need to call at 7:00 a.m., but should call as soon as you can--especially if you want a certain time.
Last Saturday I called for our 1900 Park Fare dinner. It was after 10am when I called. All time slots were still open for that Friday night dinner. Since I called at 10am I didn't have to wait on hold like I did when I called earlier.
