My sister's husband bailed on us at the last minute and cut our party down to 7 instead of 8. It's fine except that we had a grand gathering dinner planned that now can't happen.

Is it too late to get an ADR for this date?

Try and see what happens. It doesn't hurt to try.

Can you still keep the same time for that ADR? I don't know how grand gatherings work.

We got day of ADRs the week before Easter, 2008 at Marrakesh, Biergarten, 50s Prime Time, and Hollywood & Vine. Be flexible about which restaurant you eat at and what time you eat. We tended to prefer earlier dinners.

I think you will be able to get ADR's. I suggest having a back-up choice of restaurant when you call to inquire about ADRs, just in case you don't get your first choice. Also be willing to be flexible with the times for ADR.

Happy planning

I would give it a shot. You might not get your first choice, but there are some available. We did an impromptu trip last weekend and got late lunch at Coral Reef 2 days before and we have gotten some ADRs the day of in the past.

It's always worth a try!

We did a last minute trip by most standards (4 weeks). I didn't get most of the ADR's I wanted the first time, but I kept calling every 4-5 days as our plans changed and evolved. I didn't have much luck at all the first 3 weeks getting my first choices, but when I called the week before we left I suddenly had a choice of several times for all most all the places (except for the most highly sought after places like CRT etc). While there, we were able to change the time of our ADR one evening with only a few hours notice. All the TS places had at least a few to quite a few(!) empty tables when we dined, even those that had "only one opening left" at the time we made our ADRs

If you haven't cancelled that dinner consider this, see if you can add another person just for the dinner. If the family is willing to invite a stranger put a note up on the Solo board and see what happens. Or if you think you know someone going at the same time, invite them. Even if its a couple you'll be able to keep the ressie.

I think that you should be able to find at least something...maybe not at the most popular eateries, but there are some fabulous places that are not too popular... My first thought would be Cape May Cafe... last time we were there we were able to get an ADR 1 day before... Another option would be the smaller TS around the WS or Yak and Yeti at AK... it can never hurt to try... you may have to break up your seating though...

When my TA cancelled my sister's room, it automatically cancelled the safari dinner. We were even willing to still pay for his ticket even though he wasn't coming - but they woudn't hear of it.

Try it! We were there last June (crazy busy) and I wanted to switch my Kona reservation to earlier. I called the day before and had my choice of about 4 different times. It never hurts to give it a shot.
