Well, just got the call, I guess there are 185 now. We finally get some snow for them to play in and everyone is sick! I should've known by the low # of kids at the bus stop this morning. Another 50 kids and 25% of the enrollment will be out!
I heard a similar story on the local news last night so I was wondering if you are in the same area or if this is something that is affecting many. What are the symptoms?
We are in the west suburbs of Chicago....sore throats, nasty cold symptoms that hit out of nowhere....some kids are spiking high fevers of 103 or higher..but some no fever at all. DD has 101 right now, some have stomach flu symptoms...others do not. Just all around horrible aches and pains. So far DD does not feel like the stomach part is an issue...which is good because she can't afford to lose ANY weight! I have her hair braided and the beach towels surrounding the floor just in case tho! I sure hope you all don't get this your way.
Something similiar to this happened when my youngest DD was in first grade 2 years ago. Some siblings had a stomache bug and came into school (one of them were in my DD class and I was the class mom). Within 48 hours, over 100 children were home sick, all with the same thing. The classes that these children were in were down to only about 7 kids!! My DD also caught the bug and brought it home! Not a fun week!
We had an area school close yesterday due to sickness. We don't have too many out (yet) at our school. I remember years ago our school closed for 3 days 'cause of illness!
