Can you make ADR's at the 180 day without making one for the first day? I've seen several sites recommend making your ADR's in order of popularity ie Cindys first, but everytime I've called at the 180 day mark, I've had to make a reservation for the first day before I could make any others. Have I just gotten confused CM's or is that really the way it is. I got everything I wanted this time around, but just curious.

I just made mine and I didn't have to do the first day first. I think they go 180 days f/ the day you call (or you reservation) + you can go up to 10 days after that. So . . . it's actually 190 days and anything before that. I ended up having to call twice because I needed a total of 12 days of reservations. Hope that's correct . . . and I hope it makes sense :) Good Luck!

Oh, and if your gonna eat at Le Cellier, heads up . . . it's POPULAR so hurry up and make your ressies for that one!

I always call 180 days from check in and they always make me make a reservation for that day before making any others. Yet advice on other sponsered sites say to make them in order of popularity. Last year I had to make an ADR for my first day even though we didnt really want one for that day so I picked the least polular I could think of and then cancelled at a later date. Just wondering if thats really the way it is or I just keep getting odd CM's every time. And Yes-we do have LeCellier booked, its one of our favorites we do every year. Also doing Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickeys, Akershus, Crystal Palace, Boma and Raglan Road. Cant wait.

You know, this is my first time doing the dining plan, so I'm not sure. I called a total of 3 times to make different reservations, and it didn't seem like I had to make my ressies for my first day first. I was going thru the Grand Gathering CM's though, so I don't know if that made a difference. We get in on 12/8 and aren't using the DP until 12/9.

I called on 12/4 to make my ressies for 12/9-12/14 (but that was because I bought tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party ~ so I was allowed to book ressies for the day of the MVMCP and I guess one day after and everything prior). Oh, and I made my ressie for 12/13, then went from 12/9-12/14.

Then I called on 06/11 to make my ressies for 12/15-12/18. 12/15 was 187 days prior and 12/18 was 190 days prior.

Then I called back again the next day to do my ressie for 12/19.

Anyway, this is kinda confusing, but bottom line is that I had no problem booking my ressies. I have gotten different answers from different CM's about other things though!

Good luck and maybe we'll see you there! :goodvibes

One thing about the 180 + 10 date rule, they don't open many tables for that. Our trip starts 9/22, and I wanted CRT for 9/24, so I called at the 182 day mark from 9/24 (180 days before 9/22). I was able to make all the ADRs I wanted for the whole trip 9/22 through 9/29, EXCEPT CRT was already booked, and I got through at about 8:02 AM....the 180+10 tables are all opened up at the 190 day mark, and if they are full, too bad....

BUT, I called for the 9/24 CRT booking exactly at 180 days out and had no problem getting a table for 5. I was able to get every ADR I wanted within 15 minutes of my desired time.

SO if you call at your first available date, don't give up, and call again exactly 180 days out from that day....like everything else, Disney makes this all SOOO complicated, its those of us that pay attention that get what they want.
