180 days for ADRS!!!!!

The thing that has me a little :scared1: is that the change-over is all being done on one day. So if I'm understanding this right, the ADR booking window for everyone going in Feb, March and April is going to open all on one day--October 27th. I'm surpised they aren't phasing in the change in stages. Selfishly, I wish they would because we're going in late April so we're going to get caught up in it on October 27.

I was all excited until I read this! :lmao: I don't think it'll be that bad though. I went this past March when they were changing the system over and I got stuck booking when they opened up the window for everyone after a certain date. It wasn't bad. I wasn't on the phone long and I got everything I wanted. Hoping it's not that bad this time around!

I'm surprised it's gone back to 180 days, but am soooooooooo glad it has! Waiting until 90 days out to make adrs was a bit stressful for us ocd planners. Thank you Disney for bringing back the 180 day format :worship:

I wonder when they'll release those park hours. Will they release them all on 10/27 along with opening up the ADR window or have them out a week or two ahead?? :confused3

I am not usually a make-ADRs-early person, but we are going to be at WDW for New Year's Eve, and I figure I better make an ADR ASAP for that night.

I was hoping someone can help me figure out what day I can try to make ADRs for my trip. It sounds like the 90+10 rules will still apply as that will come before Oct 27. We check in Dec 29 and are looking for an ADR Dec 31. (Oh, and it's a DVC pts reservation, and those don't always show up in the online system, if that makes a difference.)Your 90 day mark is Sept 30. When I booked for Dec 11, my cm told me my mark was Sept 12.

Thanks in advance for your expert help!

PS: What size party is considered large enough to require any special booking site/phone number/rules? A grand gathering is at least 8.

I take this as a sign Disney feels the economy is recovering and doesn't need to keep as close an eye on recent numbers for future planning. This also may mean fewer discounts in '10.

I just read that ADR's are going back to 180 days effective 10/27. I should be able to call to make my reservations for my trip beginning on 4/17 on that day right???

No, you'll be able to call 180 days before your check in date of 10/27, so it'll be towards the end of April. You can figure your exact date here http://pscalculator.net/pscalc.php

Hi everyone,

I realize I'm probably behind a bit, but just realized adr's went back to 180 days as of Oct. 27th. So my question is...is it FOR and ADR on or after Oct. 27th or to BEGIN making one?:confused3

In other words, we arrive on Nov 28th--does this mean I'm within the window or not?

TIA!;)

LOL - I need more coffee, I totally misread that. Thanks for the catch! :thumbsup2

Thanks for your replies...I was also just thinking 10/27 is probably going to be a crazy day since the booking window will be open for those individuals that will fall in the 91-180 day mark!!...I already marked it in my calendar to start calling at 7 am!!

Me too..it sucks.
Oct 27th lands 180 days right in the middle of my vacation so i'll be in the log jam of 3 months of people trying to get ADR's all at the same time.
getting them isn't going to be the hard part...getting through will.
But since there's so many obsessive complusive people out there, you have no choice but to call 6 months in advance to try and get a decent meal time.

I wish they would just have the 180 days...with limited ADR's available.
then open more times at 90 days. More at 1 week and reserve a couple for that that day.
That way everybody has an equal chance, no matter how much of a planner you are or are not.

You will still have a 90 day window.

They will not accept 180 day ADRs until October 27, so those vacationing from the end of January-April will be most affected by this change. (anyone traveling after will be 180 days, but those guys will be affected on the day of the change)

I'm thrilled! We bought into DVC, so we usually are planning our trips at least 7 months in advance (mostly 11 months). This is fabulous news to me!! :yay:

I'm glad it's going back to normal!!!

I'm with you! Tomorrow is our 11-month window for the date we check in for our first DVC trip home to BWV! I am so excited that I get to make our ADRs on January 14, 2010 and not have to wait until April! I am also relieved that park hours will be released 180 days in advance as well! We already know most of the restaurants we want to eat in, so I am excited that the window will now be 180 days! YAY!!!!!! :woohoo:

For some strange reason, booking ADRs 180 days in advance makes the trip more of a reality, and it makes it feel that much closer! Even booking our resort tomorrow morning will make it feel much closer!! :yay:

I like it because it allows me to do some REAL planning for my trip! Gets me excited and the Disney juices flowing! :)

6 months!!! :scared1::rolleyes:

OH MY GOD!!!!

WHY??? :confused3

This is just silly this years trip may be our last onsite w onsite dining. 6 months from now I dont know where I will be much less eating!!!!!! :sad2:

Excited for the 180 days ADR is an understatement for how I am feeling! This is amazingly fantastic! We usually plan our meals roughly the time that we book our trip so any jump start on the real planning is a good thing.
