180 days for ADRS!!!!!

It still doesn't come up for November to book online, do we need to call??

BArb

Per the link from the first post, this doesn't start until October 27. Prior to that it will remain at 90 days.

I'm happy they are going back to 180 days because I always book my vacations 11 months in advance (Disney Vacation Club member.) I'm not so hot on the October 27 date as I am actually on a plane from MCO that morning returning home from the Food and Wine Festival. I may have to make sure I'm at the airport gate early enough that I can get online on my laptop to do my March ADR's while I wait for our 8:40 am flight! :goodvibes

(Or maybe I'll just do them when I get back to the office that morning....)

The thing that has me a little :scared1: is that the change-over is all being done on one day. So if I'm understanding this right, the ADR booking window for everyone going in Feb, March and April is going to open all on one day--October 27th. I'm surpised they aren't phasing in the change in stages. Selfishly, I wish they would because we're going in late April so we're going to get caught up in it on October 27.

Personally I am not a fan of 180 at all, I like not making my reservations at what my family feels (and I agree) is "ridiculously far out" Though I will comply with whatever they set as their rules.

I'd be lying if I wasn't glad that I won't be stuck in this, our vacation starts January 19, so I'll squeak in under the 90 day mark and totally miss the mess on October 27. I feel sorry for everyone who gets stuck in that mess. :headache:

I agree that it's ridiculous that we have to plan any meals we want to eat months in advanced... even 90 days is ridiculous!

However, knowing that I have to make them far in advanced to get any, I prefer 180 over the 90 days. This last time at 90 days out, I couldn't get all the adrs I wanted. I have never had that happen at 180 day. I always get all of my restaurants at the times I want.

So while I hate the idea of planning my dinning in advance, I'm thrilled it's back to 180. As a DVC member, I always have the next WDW vacation booked before I even leave for WDW. :)

This is great news for us too. As a DVC member we book our trips 11 months in advance. I also love that we get to book our ADRs BEFORE free dining is announced or released!!! We don't do FD and like getting a head start with our ADRs. As for the downer....Oct. 27 is MY 180 ADR date for our April 25th 2 week trip! I see the online system crashing that day!

I hear 'ya! Would you believe I'm half-thinking of moving our plans to January? Between the value-season rates and not getting caught up in the running of the ADRs on 10/27, it is looking appealing!

I'm very happy they have switched back to 180 days:cheer2:. We plan our vacations at least a year in advance. We are already booked for Nov 2010 and we already know what ADR's we want and on which day. We don't stress over the park hours. We plan out what parks we want to see first and so on, then we park hop for EMH if we need to. I can't wait to be able to book my ADR's in May for our Nov trip.:mickeyjum

I'm still finishing planning our upcoming trip in 49 days. :woohoo: in the 40's now :woohoo:. Sorry excited and now I have to start planning the SURPRISE trip I'm planning for my family in April. My 180 window will open up while we are on our vacation. thankfully the switch from 90-180 doesn't take place until 10/27. Now I'm going to have to get on the horn and talk w/ my cousin and her family where they want to eat.

I still haven't had my morning coffee yet so sorry if this comes out a little unclear..
My 90 window was November 5th. If I am understanding this correctly I will be well into my 180 day booking window when the change occurs on October 27th. And from what I am reading here this is anticipated to be a big fat mess.
So I would actually be able to start booking on October 27th if complete frustration sounds like fun.
:rolleyes1

Got it. Going to get my coffee now.:surfweb:

Wow I will be able to make my ADR's for April while I'm at Disney this October. I didn't have any trouble using the 90 day window we got everything we wanted. I can never plan a meal that far ahead.

I actually liked the 90 day mark.
The only problem I see with 180 is the park hours. As it stands, Disney is having problems releasing park hours at 90 days. They really need to make sure the hours are out at least 180 days in advance for this to work.

I just read that ADR's are going back to 180 days effective 10/27. I should be able to call to make my reservations for my trip beginning on 4/17 on that day right???

They've stated that they will be releasing their park hours 6 months in advance vs. the current 3 to coordinate with the 180 day ADRs. I use this years & last years park hours to get a feel for what it'll be when I'm there, plan ADRs, and will make any adjustments necessary when the actual park hours are released. :thumbsup2

This is fantastic! Park hours released 180 days in advance and ADR's back to 180 days! Is it my birthday or something???? ;)

As a DVC member I'm thrilled they brought back the 180 days. We don't have the option of Free Dining..but we've made an investment in Disney and we book our vacations almost 12 months in advance. I had a VERY difficult time this year booking ADR's with the 90 day window. I believe this is an effort by Disney to accomodate DVC members and I for one am thankful!

Since we are staying onsite will we be able to book any earlier (previously it was 10 days before the regular 90 days)
Yay for onsite! Well it still currently is in, but will be switching from, the 90+10 format. This doesn't mean 100 days, it's on the 90th day from your check-in date, plus 10 days of your vacation so when it goes back to 180 days, it won't be 190 days, it'll be 180+10. For example, my check in date is Sept 18 and the 90th day from that was June 20th, on June 20 I was able to book ADRs for Sept 18+ 10 days... so until Sept 28. It will just be 180 days later on...

I know the ADR telephone line opens at 7am but from what time can you book online?
Currently, 6AM.

I am not usually a make-ADRs-early person, but we are going to be at WDW for New Year's Eve, and I figure I better make an ADR ASAP for that night.

I was hoping someone can help me figure out what day I can try to make ADRs for my trip. It sounds like the 90+10 rules will still apply as that will come before Oct 27. We check in Dec 29 and are looking for an ADR Dec 31. (Oh, and it's a DVC pts reservation, and those don't always show up in the online system, if that makes a difference.)

Thanks in advance for your expert help!

PS: What size party is considered large enough to require any special booking site/phone number/rules?
