I have a 2 day ressie at POP for 4/30-5/2. Today is the 180 day mark, so I went to make my dining reservations. However, I can't make any further than 5/2, my check out date. I thought I was able to book 180 days fromfrom the start of my stay + 10 days from there?

It is 10 days if your reservation is 10 days, otherwise you can book the length of your onsite stay

It's 180+[length of stay up to 10 additional days]. But that's too difficult to say, so we type 180+10.

Actually, "length of stay" has always been the rule, but the online systems weren't linked, so they just opened up 10 days. They "fixed the glitch."

what if you have 2 reservations meaning you're resort hopping - can you not do the 180+10 then?

Nope. ADR booking is limited to the length of each stay at 180 days from check in. For some reason, they figured out how to make split-stays work for FP+, but not for ADRs.

So if the day the Disney rep gave me to book dining is December 30, is that including the 180 +8 (since we're staying 8 nights, or would it be 9 bc we're there 9 days?) ? Or can we actually book a little earlier? I never heard of the 180 + 10 before, so I'm confused as to how it works!

It would be 9 days. You can book 180 days before the day of your arrival (Are you getting there on June 26th, if so Dec 30 sounds right). Then you can book ADRs through the end of your departure day.

Okay, I understand now! The 180 is the earliest you can book, but you can extend out to the length of your reservation from that point. I was mistaken and thought the 180 + length of stay meant you could book that many days earlier than the 180th day. My brain went to a weird conclusion on that one! Thanks for explaining it to me.
