180 + 10 question

This is just something I'm curious about.

I called today for ADR's. Yesterday was my 180 day mark. The CM even said that I was at 179 days out. So I figured I could make ADR's for the first 11 days of our reservation. When she let me make one for the 12th day, I got all excited that I'd be able to book days 13 and 14, too. But she hit a road block with the +10, and couldn't book day 13 or 14.

So, does 180 +10 really mean your first 11 days, not the first 10? Or did she somehow goof up in allowing day 12 to be booked?

Just curious.

It is supposed to mean you call at your 180th day and can make up to and including 10 days of ressies...I think some of the cms are not sure.I have heard people booking 12 and 13 days wort h, and people being allowed to book at 190 days out ( disney dining acknowledged to me that some of the cms messed up on that and got reprimanded)...who knows what the deal is but the " official" deal is what I said above.

I'm starting to agree that my first CM made a mistake. Guess I got lucky.

She told me to wait two days to call back for the last two days of our vacation.

Well, I just got off the phone now, two days later as directed, and was told that even though 180 days from today is 8/24, and +10 would include 9/2, I still can't book 9/2 until March 6th. It's +10 from your reservation start date, not +10 from 180 days out.

Go figure.

I bet if I call again I'll get yet another answer.

She also stated that I shouldn't really have anything booked past 8/30, so I hurried off the phone with her, worried that she would cancel our ressies for 8/31 and 9/1!!!!

I had wondered about this as well. It makes sense that it is +10 days from your reservation date and not 10 days from the date you call. Disney let's resort guests book 10 days dining on their 180th day, not 12, 14 etc days. I have one more day that I have to book as well (our 11th day) and I think I have to wait until 180 days from that date to book. Confusng but it makes sense when you really think it thru.

And actually, it does make some sense that it would be okay to book them now. If we had been arriving a few days later than we are, those dates would be within the window of 180 + 10 and perfectly bookable, so why shouldn't people coming even earlier (therefore spending more money at wdw) be able to book?

Anyway, just wanted to say that the whole thing about calling and talking to another cm still seems to hold true.

Interesting. I call tomorrow to book Yak & Yeti so I will see if I can book our last day. Thanks for the info!

Yes! I was able to book the last day of our trip today when I called to book Yak & Yeti. That last day is actually 186 days from today so I was about to apply the plus 10 rule.

My ADRs are officially done! Now if I can just keep from changing my mind before 100 times before our trip!
