Hi. I read in one of these threads that you can call at 190 days if you're staying on Disney property. I thought the 180 + 10 was just so on the 180 day mark from the 1st day of your vaca, you could make ADRs for the rest of your trip???? If the 190 day calling is a trick to beat the system, I'm definitely not above that!!! :lmao: I'll do anything to get the times and places I want! :) Just wanting some feedback from some of you that may have done this. Thanks for your help!

Your first assumption is right -- at the 180 day mark from when you check-in, you can make up to ten days of ADRs.

Did it last week for all ten days of my trip in August. Got everything we wanted at exactly the times we wanted (Le Cellier, CP, Boma, CG, etc.)

Did what? Call at 180 or 190 days from check in? THe OP wants to know if any one has been able to call at 190 days rather than 180 days and book all their ADRs....

OP, it depends on the CM you get. The official policy is onsite guests can call at 180 days from check in and book 10 days worth of ADRs but some CMs are confused by this perk and do it incorrectly.

So, it just depends on the CM you get, unfortunately. It really isn't fair. It should be that at 180 days from check, for onsite guests, no matter which CM picks up the phone to make your ADR,s you can book 10 days worth of ADRs at 180 days out.

This is true, but take heart. This is exactly why Disney doesn't release but a small number of tables at the 190 day mark. They release the rest of their tables at the exact 180 day mark.

So for example - you call at 180 days and make 10 days of ADR's. CRT is three days into your trip and is a no-go for you.

Call again at exactly 180 days from the date you're eating at CRT and lo and behold, there's availability.

Disney holds tables until 180 for exactly this reason.

I know they hold some tables back for some restaurants like CRT, however, that still doesn't make it fair that some CMs, who don't understand the onsite perk, are doing it wrong and letting folks book all their ADRs at 190 days instead of 180 days from check in.

I agree it isn't fair, and I don't think it's something that should be posted and exploited here on the Dis either. I saw this post earlier and didn't answer it hoping that it'd be closed before the cat was let out of the bag. (I also tried to let the mods know it was here) Unfortunately the second response was posted before a mod got here.

I wanted to clarify about the exact 180 days in hopes that people would realize that there is no real advantage of calling at the 190 days and working the system.

The only restaurant you can't do it with is Cinderella's Royal Table. That has to be EXACTLY 180 days.

I was able to book all my ADRs, including CRT, at 180 days from check in. My CRT ADR was 3 days into my trip, so that would make it that I was able to book it at 183 days out which is what this onsite perk is all about; being able to make one call at 180 days from check in and book 10 days worth of ADRs.

They do hold some CRT tables back though for the true 180 day mark to make it fair to those staying offsite who cannot book everything at 180 days out.

When I booked my December trip last year, I had to call twice...once for 180+days and once for CRT at exactly 180 days.

I called on 2/11 for our ADRs. I was able to make all of them for our entire trip (8/9-8/16), including CRT which is on 4!

I had to call back on the exact 180 day mark for Yak & Yeti at AK. Y&Y does not participate in the 180+10 perk because it is not owned by WDW.

Exact same situation here. And I was told that at least in the case of CRT, only a small number of seatings are released before the 180 day mark, and I suspect that not all seatings at most if not all dining locations are released before 180 days either. This still gives an advantage to the on-resort guests, but non-resort guests can still get reservations as well at the 180 day mark.

Last trip, I called at about the 187 date to ask the CM when the actual date I could call was. She said I could for the dates up to 190 - so the first 3 or 4days of my trip. I wasn't about to argue and was able to book those days early. Then I called back a few days later and booked the rest. I was very surprised. Even though this isn't the official policy, it seems like many CM's just allow booking at 190 days. But since their doing it for some, there's no reason you should be penalized just b/c you know the rule.

I called last week at 180 days until my trip and booked CRT at that time, at 183 days.

Do you have to be staying in one of the WDW resorts to make ADRs?

Or can you still make them if you are staying off resort?

Thanks

Yes, anyone can make ADRs. What we are discussing is the onsite perk of being able to call at 180 days from check in and booking up to 10 days worth of ADRs with one phone call.

If you want to make all of your reservations at once (for a stay 10 days or less), you need to be staying at a WDW resort.

If you are not staying at a WDW resort, you will need to call 180 days from every day you want to dine (for example: if you were arriving on a Monday, you would have to call 180 days out for Monday reservations, call the next day for Tuesday reservations, again on Wednesday for Wednesday reservations, etc).

I called today (could only make 3 of our 14 days so far, and could not make one at Planet Hollywood as the CM said they can be made no more than 180 days in advance) but was able to book three TS meals, two of which we were not able to get into last year at all! :woohoo:

We got a breakfast ADR at Cinderella's Castle :goodvibes and :goodvibes a dinner ADR at Coral Reef on my birthday!

Even with the DDP we had to hold Cinderella's with a CC, but that's OK... we are thrilled to have gotten in!

Those were two of the three hardest to get into on my personal list. I will try later for La Cellier... my fingers (and toes) are crossed!:rotfl:

Here I am... an adult, that is absolutely thrilled because I am eating at the Castle!:cloud9: Hubby and teen son... might not be quite so thrilled but hey, they'll get over it!:rotfl2:

:goodvibes I was all excited to finish up my ADR's, as today is my official 180 days mark. I wasn't thinking I guess... we are staying 14 days so I have to phone in my last three days as each one arrives.

They let me schedule through 9/24/08. I was hoping for La Cellier on the 25th as I have heard such positive things about it on the Disboards, so I will call for it tommorrow!

We are excited :cloud9: to have gotten all of our choices and times so far at places we could not get into last year (we started making ADR's 2-3 months early last year, as it was our first trip, and we did not know to schedule ADR's ASAP).

So far we are eating at several places we ate at last year and loved! :lovestruc We also got into some new TS restaurants this trip! :) Our new ones are (the ones with the * are ones we tried for last year but were booked):
*Tony's Town Square
Whispering Canyone Cafe
*Coral Reef
*Cinderella's (breakfast)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)

We are hoping for ADR's (for our last days) to La Cellier and the 1900 Park Fare Character Dinner, my fingers are crossed! :woohoo:

Thanks to you all on the Disboard for helping me to realize we can book 180 days +10, I think it is what helped us to get all of the ADR's requested so far! :thumbsup2

I was able to book CRT for May with the 180+10. We arrive the 10th, CRT was planned for the 15th and I was able to book it. :thumbsup2 I even said to the CM "I'll have to call back at my 180 mark for CRT right?" and she said no, you can do it with the +10. Woohoo!
