18 Disney Dining Days May 10-28: A Really Long Review

Thanks for the reviews. Just a note about dining with a large group.
When we ate as a group (10) we asked for separate checks and that way each party had their 18% tip on it. Only 2 of us were on the dining plan but the 18% was mandatory because of the group size.

Great reviews!! Really nicely organized and easy to read.
Thank you!

What a wonderful and easy to read review. I hope you consider sending it to WDW Guest Relations because I think you have some very good points about the ADR and what it has done to the menus and food. The themed menus at WDW were one of the major attractions for me ( I mean, how often can one really go on the same rides or see the same shows and keep getting the same thrill?) and if they keep getting dumbed down its less compelling to spend my vacation time and money there.

14 days is the longest I've stayed in Orlando and we were all ready to leave by the end of it. It was in August and the heat, crowds, line-ups and artificial surroundings became too much in the end. How did you feel after 18 days?

Atmosphere: 6 Pleasant Polynesian as usual, but they didn’t dim the lights for Wishes, so it was bright, and noisy, and nobody paid any attention to the show – really ruined one of our whole reasons for eating there. We asked why and our server said, “Well, I’m not really sure, but I think somebody fell down in the dark, or something like that, so now we can’t lower the lights”. Sounds odd to me. I’d be curious to hear others’ experiences with Wishes at Ohana recently.

We dined at Ohana the same night you were there. I was excited that we were seated right next to the window anticipating watching Wishes while we dined. Well...I found out I got my times mixed up and instead of 9:00 for Wishes, they were being done at 10:00. Now that I read your review I'm thinking maybe it was a blessing that I was confused!

Instead we finished dinner and strolled along the beach until time for the fireworks. We found a dark spot on the point at the end of the beach and watched from there...it was a perfect start to our vacation.

I do agree with you about the bread pudding. I think Ohana was probably our favorite meal of the whole trip and everything was delicious...but I think I would have been happy to just feast on the bread pudding and nothing else! My only regret was that we were so stuffed that I couldn't eat a second helping of the pudding (although our server tried his best to convince us to try!)

Side note: We also had bread pudding at the Tusker House for lunch one day. Not quite as good as Ohana, but close.

Thanks for the great reviews! We always LOVE the "coffee three ways" at Artist Point so I'm really sad to see it's gone. We have ADR's there for September and I'll think about changing them and choosing Cali Grill or Jiko instead. It was a tossup amongst the three to start with so thanks to your info, my decision is made.---Kathy

Wow!! Absolutely fantastic!! Thank you so very much for taking the time to do such wonderful reviews!! Definately to the point with a lot of opinions of different choices!
Thanks again!!

Great reviews! We have the same opinion on many of the same resturants. I can't wait to go back to Narcoosee's! Thanks for taking the time to post your reviews :goodvibes

We were really tired. And pretty much done with parks. But, we sure didn't want to leave our little balcony overlooking the canal at OKW! We could have stayed another week and done nothing but hang out at the pools/waterparks by day and our balcony in the evenings, drinking sweet tea & mojitos, and eating pineapple coconut bread. Ahhh, that would be the life...
