We have a car reserved through thrifty for $18 a day, for a midsize. Can we do better?

I'd say that rate is looking fairly good. I was able to get a slight lower rate IN 1997 through Alamo with coupons and additional discounts and promotions tied together. I'm not sure how you could get a better rate now. With such a rate under my belt, I would rest and be happy with myself. Great Rate!!!

Thanks! We found the price on Orbitz. The midsize at Thrifty was cheaper than the the economy or compact at all the other places.

I could do better, I have this plan, I CAN do Better! <--- Sorry got in my John Kerry mode. :p

Actually, that sounds pretty darn good to me. I wouldn't pass up $126 for 7 days at all.

And does that include your taxes and fees? And for what time frame (date of rental, and how many days?)

If so, yes, I think that is pretty good, for a week, in the near future or high demand timeframe. (Of course, being the O/C person that I am, I would have to keep checking every so often.)

$18 per day is good. It will be hard to find much lower than that w/o coupon, special offer, etc..
