...

First off, it's nobody's business why you only put $10 in. HOWEVER, if you really wanted to get his panties in a wad you could've said, "I've only got $15 until my well fare check comes in and I need the other $5 for cigarettes". :duck: now I'm going to :tiptoe: quietly away and put on my flame retardant suit.

That's more along the lines of what I was thinking! :rotfl2: I was going to say, "You don't honestly think I can afford this vehicle AND the gas to fill it up, do you? :snooty: "

I'm one of the people who have a large vehicle. We have a F-250 4WD crew cab truck, and it gets 20 mpg (diesel). We have it to pull our horse trailer, haul hay, pick up feed, etc. I also have an old Taurus that I drive to work, but if we go anywhere as a family, we go in the truck because it's more comfortable (and much newer).

And, no, I don't consider myself as somebody who doesn't care anything about our environment.

OP, I don't think you were trying to make a political statement. I think you were just venting about somebody who was rude (and I agree with you that they were rude). I also don't think you meant to be insulting by your comment about the Escort. You were just "smarting off" back to him (in your head, so you weren't rude like him).

How can you read a tone?

Your "Service" is very personal, do you do it out the goodness of your heart or for profit?

I am not attacking you for your business, I’m sure you do supply a lot of people but ,
I just feel some people are hypocritical on these boards about some things as in
“SUVS and Trucks are gas eaters, But I have a truck-but I only use it for business!!!!!”

Its not our place to say who can use what vehicle for what purpose, so why should it matter on a discussion board related to a mouse?

Reading a tone....did you ever have to take an English class?
We were always asked what the tone of a piece was.

And please read my posts, nowhere did I say people should not drive what they want. I offered an explanation of what some people believe. Never did I say it was what I believed. I added that I also add in to gas guzzling by using a truck however, I also added what I do to limit the destruction of my ways(and that's my choice which apparently does not matter, i should just drive it around all the time:confused3 ). And trucks are for work, that’s what they were intended for. Trucks have morphed into something now other than what they were intended.

I see a big difference for needing a particular vehicle for work or wanting one for comfort. I still wouldn’t deny you what you want to drive.

And the CB……I don’t think there is any pixie dust in these parts.

Oh, as for the entire profit thing….you really would not want to know. We do give to many charities every year. Make a wish and a local youth cancer center just to name 2.

Next time this happens turn to the person and tell them to "Stick it in their gas tank!"

Sorry, OP, but I had to laugh, too.

I never pay attention to how much or how little gas people put in their car. I could care less!!! I just fill my own and go on my merry way!!!!! It never dawned on me to see how much people spend (or don't spend) at the gas pump. I'm just looking for the easiest in and out when I pull up to the pump!

Well...I own 2 SUV's and I thank you for only putting $10 in yours so that there's enough gas to fill both of mine left...I think to fill both tanks at once would cost us about $100. :headache:

I drive SUV's because
1. I like them
2. I need to get to work, even if it snows
3. If you're escourt or prius hits my SUV, I win
4. I have kids and all the stuff that comes with them
5. I like them

The environmental argument doesn't phase me...I figure all the additional money I pay in taxes to fill my vehicle should counteract that.

I'm a bad person. :teeth:

A funny/weird thing happened to me on the same vein. About two weeks ago I was in dd's school office, waiting in line to ask a question about something when another mother kept staring at me very pointedly. I had seen her before and she was never very friendly toward me, but I don't know her. She kept giving me a kind of dirty look, and I didn't understand why. She finally said in a huffy voice "You drive that black Hummer, don't you?" "I HATE those things, and don't understand HOW people could drive them!" She said it with such venom, I was completely taken aback. The funny thing is, we don't have a Hummer (nor would we be able to park one if we did! LOL) I told he "No, that's not mine." with a puzzled look. She said "Oh, I thought it was." No apology for being so rude or anything. She still isn't very friendly toward me... guess she either still doesn't believe me or is to embarrassed to admit it. :confused3

I think that the reason that people think it is their business what kind of car you drive is because it isn't just affecting you and your family but the entire planet. I'm not going to get into an environmental debate here but I think some people are missing that connection. You don't have to agree with it and you can still tell those of us who are more environmentally conscious to go pound sand, but that is why we are concerned.

Oh good grief! Everything people do will affect someone or something else, that's what it means to be alive. I am sure you have done plenty of things in your life which have had a negative impact on someone else (for example, posting judgmental comments on the disboard).

Isn't it funny what can cause some people to get their knickers in a twist!! (and keep them that way!)

You have great self control!

Can we start a "Bad Person" thread, now? ( I particularly like #3)

Now THAT was funny. It made reading this whole thread worthwhile. :lmao:

Actually...my brother got hit once by an SUV. He was driving a little BMW hatchback. Guess who drove away and guess who had to be towed?

That's right...my brother drove away and the SUV had to be towed. So sometimes the little car wins.

And I agree...lets start a bad person thread.
