So each of us are Plat status and will cruise for the first time soon as such. My 17 yo will be 1 month shy of 18. Will the 17yo be allowed in Palo? Given the 17 yo also has Plat status, do they receive an alternative perk since that credit may not be used at Palo? I’m curious as to what this means for under 18. Thanks in advance.

As I understand it (and we are not platinum), he cannot participate in Palo if he is under 18 and no alternative amenity is offered.

Others please correct/clarify.

Yes, this is correct. It's quite possible for a person under the age of 18 to be Platinum. The Castaway Club perk for Palo states:
Complimentary Dinner at Palo or Palo Steakhouse
Savor an elegant evening at the adult-exclusive Palo or Palo Steakhouse, available to Platinum and Pearl Members—including Guests staying in the Members' staterooms. Subject to availability. All Guests must be 18 or older. Limited to one complimentary experience per stateroom, per sailing.

Any Platinum guests under 18 cannot dine at Palo.

The Palo perk is for the stateroom not the specific individual. Thus no alternative choice.

My son was two days away from turning 18 and he was not allowed to eat in the adult dining, they are very strict. Kids who turn 18 on a cruise are also not allowed to go in Vibe once they turn 18 either, even if they could go the day before when they were 17.
