17 snack credits on a 7 day trip?

we are going day-say so 7 days worth of dinning plan, when I go on MDE and view charges it shows table service, QS, then says 17 snack? Shows it for each of the 4 of us, doesn’t say how many TS and QS though just that there’s a plan available for each. I know once I’m in Disney it will update to show me how many are left, but my ? Is why would it say 17 not 14 each?

Also in years past I was able to order QS adult meals for my kids if they wanted it, now with the change to no dessert in adult meals how does that work, if they order a kids meal does it come with drink and dessert and they still get 2 snack credits? But if they order and adult QS just comes with a drink?? Also I was usually able to get fancy cold coffee as my drink with meals is this still right or is it just fountain drinks now and fancy coffees a snack extra? TIA

I wouldn't necessarily worry about what MDE says about your dining plan before check in - it is often incorrect. You mention days but please note that the Dining Plan is based on the number of nights on your reservations not days. That being said- if you are staying seven nights you would each have 14 snack credits to use during your reservation.
To answer your meal questions - as of now QS credits are still pooled with no distinction between child and adult credits. If you order a child's meal that comes with the dessert than you will get that regardless of the 2 snack credits. Yes - adult QS meals now include entree and beverage unless offer wise specified.
For beverages- if a location offers a specialty drink as the non alcoholic beverage you should still be able to get that.
