I'm taking 2 16 yr old girls for our next trip. They enjoy eating out w/o parents here and there. Would it be kosher to let them have one meal at a table service restaurant alone? We will be on the dining plan and I would give them plenty of money for a tip... I just don't know if this is allowed. They are cousins and very responsible and we are celebrating their sweet 16th birthdays. Has anyone ever done this before?

If you think they are mature enough for it, then it's fine. There's no rule I know of against it.

I would think they look old enough that no would raise any eyebrows. I ate out with my friends at that age.

We let our 17yrold DD and her best friend do all their meals on their own last time. they had numerous sit-downs, buffets,etc......They had no problems at all. They gave me their list and i made adr's for all of us at once at 90days out.

They did have a few meals w/ us also.........just made sure they understood tipping and gave them the tip moneys. We were on DDP. It was our 25th anniversary week and enjoyed our times alone also.
