Before I start this review I just want to share the exciting news that we are headed back to WDW in October! Yay! Rob somehow managed to hang on to his last 5 vacation days and is willing to use them all to go back to WDW for a week this fall. What a guy! We are going to take the train and probably stay at SSR. This trip will be all about F&W and Disney Springs. We plan on spending very minimal if any time in the other parks. And my SIL and her fiance are probably coming with us as well. Fun stuff! Had to share because we just decided on this for real this week. Anyway, back to the most recent trip...
Today is St. Patty's Day! I was so excited to be here in WDW for St. Patty's Day, I cannot even tell you. I planned out a whole outfit and everything. I was psyched for this day. I have never been in WDW on an actual holiday of any kind. Close to Halloween and Christmas and Easter, but never on the actual day, so this was exciting for me and I couldn't wait to see what special things would be going on.
We got up at a decent time and got ready and were out at the bus stop in our green gear.
You can't tell from the pic, but my shirt has a green, Irish BB-8 on it. I loved it! I got A LOT of comments on that shirt. I even found Rob an Irish themed Phillies shirt the day we left for this trip. I was loving our look for today.
We got to Epcot around 10am and rode SE with a FP and then walked back to WS. Rose and Crown was already in the bar area and I was thrilled to see they were offering green beers and ciders. Bring it!
Rob got a green Black & Tan which was very cool looking in person with the green on the bottom and then the Guinness on top.
I got a green Strongbow Cider.
Cheers!
And we were able to use our TiW card just at the bar, so that was a win as well.
We walked around WS with our Irish themed beverages until we reached the Smokehouse booth and there we got a beer sampler to split.
Here is Rob and another gentleman there in their green.
Rob was loving the Maple Bacon stout today and I enjoyed the grapefruit beer.
Then we walked back to R&C and checked in for our lunch reservations. I had a feeling this place would be packed today, so it was the only ADR I did pretty far in advance and I'm glad I did. We were seated inside and started off with another round of green beverages.
For appetizers Rob started with the Scotch Egg. Golden-fried Hard-boiled Egg wrapped in Sausage Meat with Mustard Sauce.
He absolutely loved this! In fact he was talking about it earlier today.

I had a bite without mustard sauce and it was very very good. A definite winner!
I had Potato Leek Soup to start.
This is always creamy and delicious. I love this soup. Even on a warm day.
For his entree Rob got the Welsh Pub Burger. Angus beef patty with Bass beer-Irish Cheddar Gratin, bacon, and battered leeks.
It looked amazing and I regretted not getting it myself. Rob loved this burger.
I had the Shepherd's Pie with ground lamb, seasonal vegetables, English peas, mashed potatoes and McCall's Irish cheddar.
I love real Shepherd's Pie with the ground lamb. I make this a lot at home, but my local store rarely has ground lamb and I usually end up having to make it with beef, so this is a treat.
A super successful meal! And as always our server here was so sweet. The best servers are always at R&C. We always have a great experience. To finish we each got another green drink in a to-go cup to take around WS with us. Our server put a little shamrock on our bill even. Adorable.
Then we took a stroll around WS to take in the beautiful sights.
Then we rode Living with the Land once in the standby line since it wasn't too long and then again with a FP.
And then on our way out, three green ciders may or may not have influenced my decision to buy this.
I just couldn't help myself.
