$15k and you can Dine in Walts Apartment in Disneyland.........

I just read the article. I would do this in a heartbeat. Let's hope Disney World follows suit.
I think the cost is less expensive than a reception and I'd pick 10 people to bring along to share our Anniversary meal!!!

This seems kind of tacky to me. Shouldn't Walt's and Lilly's apartment be off limits?? I understand tours but private events seems odd. I have to admit I have never been to D/L but when we go I would like to see the apartment!

To call it Walt and Lilian's apartment is not quite correct. Their apartment in Disneyland is the one above the fire station in Main Street. This dining space is part of the space that was meant to be their apartment in New Orleans Square, but never came to fruition for them. 21 Royal Street is a modern creation at this point to tap into that ultra exclusive luxury market for guests who want to do something really special.

Thanks for the clarification! I envisioned their apartment and thinking it should be on the National Registry and they were making a dining hall out of it. I remember reading about how They didn't preserve Walts office at the Studios. I believe Shaun Cassidy got the office when he was producer on the studio and it kind of freaked him out when he realized it was Walts old office.

This would be so cool. Having watched him all over Disneyland on Wonderful World of Disney, I'd love see it, even if he never set foot in it.

They better be serving me some lobster stuffed with kobe beef stuffed with truffles and caviar for that price.

15 k seems like a lot but it's for 12 people if 6 couples go that's only 2500 a couple. Still way way way too much for my blood.

I know this is another tangent from the main topic, but the mention of Walt's office reminded me of an interesting tidbit I read at some point. The space previously occupied by Walt's office is/was as of a few years ago, apparently occupied by Marc Cherry (creator of the tv show Desperate Housewives). The producers of Saving Mr. Banks wanted to use the actual space for the office scenes in their film, and Cherry refused. To think that the space where the magic was born is now just a typical writers/producers office.

Well Mr. Cherry sounds like a complete jerk. I also can't believe they didn't preserve Walt's office.

I wonder if Walt would want things like his apartment or office preserved? In all the documentaries/biographies I've seen/read of him, he seemed to be a humble man just doing what he loved. I think it would make him smile to see people enjoy his spaces. Granted, he'd probably choke on the price tag considering a one day ticket for Disneyland was $1 when he opened it.
