Chalk up another (ex) band geek here. District Champions all 3 years in high school. I played the clarinet. Didn't continue it into college though. Not enough time with the course load I took. Finished a physics degree in only 4 years, and I was the only woman in my graduating class. So I guess you could say I took the geek with me and just left the band behind. :rotfl2:

Morning to my FAVORITE LOSERS!!! :rotfl2:

DJ - Your daughter had PERFECT weather :sunny: for their trip to Chicago. Today we are having severe T-storms and a high of 58 :cold: Hope she and the class had a good field trip. That is a long time on a bus for them. If I remember you live in Muncie.

Judy- Come on in and join the lovefest!! :grouphug: We are here for you whether you are shooting for the 150's or Onderland. I am the slowest loser of them all :rotfl: Glad you could come - just keep moving and losing!! :banana:

Lesli - So how does it feel wearing the new clothes ;) No STRETCH JEANS - WOO HOO!! Keep going. The only problem with losing is that it costs you buying a new wardrobe - ISN'T A GREAT FEELING!!! :goodvibes

Mom of SBB - LOVE BBQ - Still working off the BBQ ribs and chicken I ate on Mother's Day!! YUMMY!! Glad you enjoyed and now it is time to go back to work :Pinkbounc Onderland here you come!!

To our favorite band people - LOVE THE MUSIC!! Never was a band geek - every band needed an audience and that was me:):) Actually our high school didn't have a band. I grew up in Chicago and went to high school during the racial riots after Martin Luther King's death so we didn't have homecoming until my senior year. One of the few regrets of my life.....enjoy this time and the memories :cheer2:

Still irregular with my exercise and still fighting to take off the Mother's Day ribs and chicken.........with sweet potato fries (baked) YUMMY!! Oh well 1 step forward and 2 steps back - Need to get through this week and Friday night's first therapy session with DD17..........I know it will get better :grouphug:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Linda

Good morning all fellow losers :wave::wave::wave:

Haven't exercised all week. Went to dinner with friends from office on Monday night. Had a good time. Nice to have a home cooked meal while living in a hotel. Last night I worked until 12:30 trying to finish up the account I'm doing in my "spare" time.

Will catch up later

Have a good day

Kathy!!!

Glad you had a minute to stop by.........miss talking to you.

Hang in there with work.......better days are coming:):)

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Linda

Hey gang!!

TigerCheer!!! CONGRATS on maintaining during TOM...I think that's almost a better success than a week of losing 3 pounds! You're doing great!! Did you have a birthday??? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! You're treating yourself right and will be in the 180's in no time!! That's when I really started seeing a difference in my clothes fitting...I've got to get with it and get back into the 170's!!

JUNK JUNK JUNK!!! I don't think I even had my glass of water yesterday!! Okay, well, maybe one...I kept getting sidetracked with loads of to do's on my lists...but still managed to find two small bags of Dorito's! UGH! I'm going to try and flush some junk out today...MUST DRINK MY WATER!!!

Gang, we're all cheering each other on...I LOVE reading these great encouraging posts!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes, we live in Muncie. Actually, I had 2 DDs on the trip (twins). They had to get up at 3:30 am yesterday and they got back to the school at midnight last night. They are still making them come to school today! They are DRAGGING this morning. As I type the are zones out on the couch. The bus won't be here for 1/2 an hour. I hope they make it through the day.

I was BAD yesterday while they were gone. DH and I had Olive Garden for dinner. BUT we rarely have time alone (no family near us to help watch the kids), so I don't feel too guilty. The scales were up a pound this morning, but I will get back on track this morning! I have 5 weeks (from tomorrow) until we fly out to WDW! I would really like to make my summer challenge goal by then. We will see.

DJ

Yes, it feels wonderful to be in no stretch jeans! So much so, in fact, that I didn't want to take them off yesterday morning and change into my painting clothes. I was so comfy! Then I put on the painting pants, which I thought were fairly comfy, only to find out that they were driving me nuts because they feel so baggy compared to the new. Oh well, I won't complain too much. ;) Retaining some water today so the scale was not as kind, but I did see 213 for more than a brief second. Hopefully if I am good today, I will see that tomorrw.

Judy - WELCOME! :wave: You can join now, there are many of us that have a ways to go to the 150's, but the support here is great!

Tigercheer - Great job at maintaining.

Linda - Those storms last night were crazy! We need the rain, but did it have to literally pour? I think they kept me up half the night.

Tara - It is just as easy to grab a piece of fruit as it is a bag of chips. Also, take a water bottle and carry it around the house with you while you work on getting things done. You can do this!

Kathy - Keep thinking "I'm going to WDW soon!" You really could use the break.

DJ - I think that dinners out w/ DH sans children don't really count. It occurs so infrequently.

Everyone keep moving and losing! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

So my legs have been killing me for the past two days, maybe from actually doing something! :rotfl: I just keep thinking "this feeling in my legs is a sign that this week I'll be able to celebrate 10 pounds gone and get a new clippie!!" :Pinkbounc

I'm noticing a change in myself even with only 10 (errr, I mean 9) pounds gone. In gym I'm right out there running as hard as I can to get to the bases and I feel more confident doing other physical activities :goodvibes

Onward and downward! :cheer2:

Hiya everybody!!!!!!!!
Twinx: Go you!!! Focus, now and you've got it ROCKIN'!
Lesli: Hope you see it! :cheer2: :cheer2: so you do. Thanks!
Tara: Quote: "TigerCheer!!! CONGRATS on maintaining during TOM...I think that's almost a better success than a week of losing 3 pounds! You're doing great!! Did you have a birthday??? My birthday's in August, but I can celebrate anytime! When I do reach the Elite 80's, there will be a party in my journal! And guess what? You guys are all invited!! Yeah!
Linda: "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." You CAN do it!!!! Impossible=I'm Possible!!
Lacerta: We don't have band geeks, per se. All the "cool" people are in band. If you are enjoying what you do, then it's worth it.

To everybody else who I may have missed, keep doing well, WISHerwomen!

Cheers! :cheer2:
"We've got WISHer power, some were in the band, all we need is losses, YES WE CAN!!!" Go Wishers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

~~~~~~~~~~~Edit:
Just weighed myself because I felt good. 192! 1-9-2! 1-9-2! One step closer Wahoo Wahoo Wahoo! Is this normal to lose this much during TOM??? :confused3
I have been MIA for the last couple of weeks, and the result has not been good. I have gained back 5 of pounds I had lost. It started out with getting ready for my first weekend trip to Cleveland the end of April, then last weekend we went to Cedar Point. I admit I did not do well with eating right while on vaction, which would not have that bad, but I did not get back on program when I was at home.
So I am back and more than ready to get back on program. I have noticed that over the last couple of weeks, I have not had the energy that I had when I was exercising regularly. I also noticed that I am not as positive, when I am off program.
Welcome to all of the new members. For those who don't know who I am, here is a little about me. I am a 28 year old lease accountant for a national retailer. I have been married for almost 7 years to my high school sweetheart who is a paramedic/911 dispatcher and a volunteer firefighter. We have 2 sons ages 4 and 2. We live in a small town about 30 miles west of Ann Arbor, MI.
Regina
Judy - Welcome to another newbie loser. I just joined too and I've got a good 60 lbs to lose to get in the 150 club.
Tara - I have a hard time with that too. Hubby is skinny skinny and always has something unhealthy in the house. Its so easy to just grab a cookie on the go. Its one of the big things I'm working on. I realized today, though, that after I work out, sugar just doesn't sound at all appetizing, and actually makes me a bit sick to my stomach if I eat it anyway. So my new goal is whenever I get a craving, go do 50 crunches and drink a glass of water instead.
Tiger - You cannot take my band geekness away. I won't let you. :earboy2:
I've had a pretty decent 24 hours. Walked a full mile yesterday (I'm just getting started, so I get worn out quickly, I'm working my way up), and signed up at Curves today and had a 30 minute light workout while learning the machines. I also managed to cut about 800 calories off my normal intake and still felt full, and I think I can still do better. As long as I don't have to stop eating Cheerios for breakfast, I'm fine. No weight loss yet, but I figure I need to build a few muscles before the weight will start to come off, so I'm ok with that. I went and bought a tape measure yesterday and wrote down all my starting measurements so I would have that to motivate me, since I expect inches to come off faster than weight.
TigerCheer and Twinkles - great job on your motivation and remaining focused. I admire teens who recognize they have a weight problem and have the fortitude to do something about it.
Tara - we need to make a pact to drink our water. I have been bad this week and have not been drinking nearly enough. I also have not been exercising. I can feel it in my lower back and knees because I have not been stretching either. I'll see when I get home how bad my eating has been.
Lesli - I can't wait to fly out to Disney. Between now and leaving I have another week on the Island. I also have to fly down next Thursday (just for the day) to be there for the interview of the potential new auditors.
Lacerta and Judy - welcome to the Club
Linda - I agree with you about the weather. It is hard to get motivated to do things outdoors when we can't seem to string 2 nice days together. I soon will not have to work evenings also and will have more time to explore the Island. There a numerous parks around which I would like to check out for walking and biking.
Tomorrow I drive home and sleep in my own bed. Friday morning I head for Roanoke VA to pick up DD2 from school. I think she is more than ready to come home for the summer. The only problem is, I will be driving 6 hrs tomorrow, 10 - 11 hours Friday and another 10 - 11 hours Saturday. Hopefully Sunday will be a nice day so I can go for a walk or a bike ride.
I found this quote when I was cleaning off the former controllers desk but I don't know the author.
"You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret to your sucess is found in your daily routine."
I thought is was appropriate to the wish goal of trying to acheive a healthier lifestyle, not by dieting but by changing our daily habits.
Enough babbling. Need to try and get some sleep, but am not the least bit tired.
ONward and DOWNward :banana::banana::banana:
Morning Losers!! :wave2:
Chicago is FREEZING!! :cold: After 2 straight days of 80 degrees we are back down to 54 degrees and RAIN :umbrella: So those of you living east of me - IT"S COMING :sad2: :sad2:
For the moment regular exercise is on the back burner. Still trying to straighten out DD17 physical and emotional issues. :worried: Spoke with her doctor yesterday about changing the meds for acid reflux - that means I have to come home after work instead of going to fitness center. Of course the doctor didn't call until last night.
Also now she is refusing to sleep in her own bed. She says she visualizes herself being sick and throwing up like she did last Feb. Doctor tells me this is what a panic attack is.........we are going to meet with the therapist tomorrow night. Please keep good thoughts that she connects with this therapist. :wizard: The sooner DD starts the sooner she will get better. DD understands that this is not normal thinking but can't help herself. :worried: :headache:
Hoping to start back to ME next week - been really bloated this week and it is not TOM...........
As always just keep talking to me....... :grouphug: You have no idea how much it helps. :grouphug:
Kathy - What a GREAT QUOTE!! I plan on using it in my signature......Thanks!! Be Safe Driving!! Take Water and know where you can stop to.........well you know pee!! :rotfl2:
Tiger and Twinkles - You are the BEST!! Keep showing that positive spirit!! :cheer2: Need it right now.
Lacerta - I agree - My DH is not really thin but not heavy either. BUT he can decide that he needs to lose 15lbs and BAM!!!! he does it!! Literally melts off his body :rotfl:
Regina - WELCOME BACK :wave2: Missed talking to you.....glad you are back with us.
DJ - How did the girls do after the field trip? Can't believe that the school require them to go the next day!! :confused3 Wait!! Yes, I can - I work for the crazy school system - anything can happen ;)
Ok - I am off to get ready for work........Everyone stay focused and drink that water. I will get through the next couple of days and then back to my routine. :cheer2:
Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda
Linda - I have always thought it was depressing when people told me as a teenager that they were the "best years of my life" and I should enjoy them. Seems like I heard that about twice a week my entire teen life. My teen years were ok, but not all that great, and my thought was always, "You mean it gets worse?!?" Sounds like your daughter is going through a really rough time, so it might help to let her know that the maxim that gets drilled into us all isn't true. For some people, being a teenager just sucks, and it WILL get better.
We've got our first nice day this month here, its supposed to be 70 and sunny, but then start thunderstorming again tomorrow and rain all week again. One of these days I will be able to start riding my bike to work.
I thought I'd be sore today from my first Curves workout, but I'm not, so I think I'll head back in after work today.
I find that I do much much better with a routine, and I like doing the same thing each day, or just switching between a couple of things, but first I have to find what works best for me, so I ordered an inexpensive set of DVD's on ebay that has 10 different workouts, so I can try each of them and see what fits me best.
Funny story, I asked my mom if she had any exercise videos. She said I could have her old Jane Fonda tapes. Jane Fonda? While I do know who she is, I'm guessing those tapes are almost as old as I am. I'm going to check them out though and see if they will even still play. Hopefully they're VHS and not BETA. :rotfl2:
Hiya!!
Lacerta-keep your band geekiness! I don't want any...I have enough!! There's a jazz band concert at school today, we watched them practice. Oh so awesome. I am most definetely going! :moped:
Linda-thanks! :cheer2: Go you!! I'm praying that "everything" for you "will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end!"
NYcpa-Thanks for the kind words.
Good news everybody! :thewave: I am now at (drumroll, please) 191!!! Is this losing weight "weigh" too fast? I mean, TOM is gone (and not a moment too soon, either), but this is insanely awesome!
Grampa is doing well. He's at Medical College of Ohio now, getting tested for "pulmenary" something or other. To put it bluntly, they're seeing if he could breathe. 5 more days till Squad Leader Results! Yeah!!
GO everybody! :cheer2:
We're mov'in down we're mov'in out!
WISHers rock! Let's hear you shout
Catch the spirit that us teens create
Cause this year's the one, we'll look so great!
Drink your water, eat your best
We're the WISHers, we don't (sometimes) mess! :cheer2:
Hey Tiger, way to go on the loss! But I do have a question for you.
Do you weigh yourself everyday? Because there can be severe fluxuations throughout a week, so it's usually safer to weigh in once a week, but you never know!
Call me clueless! Thanks Twinks!! Like your ticker!
My weigh in dazy from now on will be Saturdays.
Thanks again, Twinks! :teeth:
Today was a pretty good day for me. I was able to stay on plan for eating, I and did 15 min. on the weight machine, and took a walk with my kids. Last night I did 20 min. on the eliptical machine before I went to bed.
Regina
Happy Friday!!!! My favorite day of the week - NO WORK TOMORROW :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Kids are definitely beginning to "mentally" check out of school - makes for a looooooooooooooooong day for this sub :p Don't have an assignment for today - waiting for the phone to ring.
Still in exercise limbo - tonight is the first therapy session :goodvibes :goodvibes DD17 is nervous but seems to be calmer that she is not in this alone. Hope this works :goodvibes
DD20 is in Washington DC for the weekend with some friends. She is thinking about going to grad school out there AFTER she works at WDW doing there college program. Did you know you can still participate in the college program even though you just graduated from college? She can be down there June, 2006 (if accepted) - WOO HOO - where do you think this mom will be next summer :earsboy:
Food is going alittle better. My body has finally released itself and don't feel as bloated this morning.........gee more information than you needed to know :rotfl: :rotfl:
Regina - keep moving - even if it is a small amount of time :Pinkbounc
Tiger and Twinkles - How are the cheerleaders doing? :cheer2: Hope you will have a Great Weekend!!
Lacerta - good luck with the tapes you ordered? What are the names of them? Have you tried a balance or stability ball? Love those workouts. :bounce:
To all my favorite Losers - Have a GREAT WEEKEND!! Don't forget to keep moving and drink that water!!! :grouphug:
Have a Magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:
Linda
Hiya everybody. I have good news and bad news!
The good: Today was WI. I am now at 190!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Yesterday at the school dance, I danced with a guy. Not the guy I've been crushing on though. In my "new" pants, comfy shirt and Better-Looking body, I felt like I was queen of the world.
The bad: Grampa had a whole-body scan and the doctor found some spots on his lungs. If they are cancerous (more likely then not), then the doctor refuses to operate. I feel so helpless because I can't do anything. :sad2:
Thanks for the support!
Oh and Linda: I'm doing fine, TOM's been gone. Can't complain.
