Hello everyone. Just joining this forum, so I thought I'd introduce myself.
My name is Chanelle, I'm a 27 year old female, married 5 years with no children (by choice).
I'm planning a trip to Disneyworld just about a year from now in late April, and I decided it was the perfect time to make a commitment to losing some of this extra weight. When I found this board, I gave a little
I'm currently at the highest weight I've ever been, 210, and I have a couple of hindering factors that make it more difficult to lose weight. I work a more than full time, sedentary type job; I have a naturally slow metabolism; I'm on Birth Control, which makes me tend to gain, rather than lose, even though I've tried 3 different kinds. Oh, and my husband is 6'5" and has two hollow legs, he only weighs about 170, and eats anything he wants.
I've never been much of a dieter, so I don't have any past roller coasters working against me, I've just gradually gained over the years. When I had to shop for jeans in the + sizes this last month, that was the last straw. Also, I've started waking up with lower back pain, that I attribute to my weight. Currently at a size 16/18. My goal is to get back to an 8/10, eventually.
I don't enjoy exercise, but as long as I can do it in the privacy of my own home, I
will do it. I have an elliptical machine, which is my favorite exercise, other than swimming, which requires going out into public, so I never do it. In the summertime (about 5 months in my part of the world), I ride my bike the 2 miles back and forth to work, and last summer, this made me lose an entire pant size, which I gained back over the winter. Didn't lose a pound though, I actually gained 5 pounds. I'm currently looking for some sort of video tape that involves an exercise I can do in a limited amount of space from my living room. I'd gladly welcome any suggestions.
Also, I'm a very picky eater, so most of the diet plans out there, I know I would cheat on, so my goal is to snack healthier (cheese and crackers instead of chips and cookies) and eat smaller portions. (have a hard time with this, being raised to clear my plate, but I'm working on it). I already drink lots and lots of water, so I'm all set there.
Anyway, my body seems to be very unusual in that my weight varies throughout the day and from day to day by as much as 5-7 pounds. I'll be up 4 one day, then down 3, then down 2, then up 7. So to figure whether I'm losing or not, I'm going to weigh myself each morning the first week of the month and take an average, so I won't be discouraged by the daily increases, which is what has always happened before.
Anyway, I'll end this novel now before it turns into a full page. I look forward to seeing lots more of your motivating stories in the days to come.
