Another beautiful day! Got up and finally started the Biggest Loser DVD. It's funny, I probably spent more energy putting off doing the workout than I actually expended doing the workout! My goal this week is to do the workout 6 days and do 30 minutes on the TM as well. I am shooting for a goal of 10 lbs.weight loss for October.

Maria, glad to see you kicked the cold! Keeping my fingers crossed that you meet your goal! :Pinkbounc

Tara, you can make your goal just focus and kick some booty! :cheer2:

C'mon everybody a new month and a new goal....you can do it!! :woohoo:

well, I haven't been on here in FOREVER, but I am back...and I am kicking this weight for the last time!!! Over the summer I put on 12lbs!!!!! UGH...anyway I am back down to 171.8, and am now 28.2lbs away from my goal of 143..I know a funny goal, but I want to be able to say I lost 65lbs!!! So I will be checking in often...Oh yeah, and I joined the gym and I am training for the WDW full!!!! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

I'm Becky. I'm not sure if I posted on here before or not. I started out on an adventure to a healthier lifestyle on January 1st this year. I have lost 47 pounds so far and am now at 199 pounds. I just crossed into onederland. :woohoo: Onward and downward.

I hope to get down to 145 pounds by my 25th birthday in June of 2007. This way I will have lost 101 pounds.

Good Afternoon, Ladies!

This is the week that I am getting to my September goal. I wasn't there Oct. 1, but I am determined to be there by next Monday! On the bright side, I know my weight fluctuates alot (like between 2.5 lbs. in two days) so I'm pretty sure I was either there or very close, I just couldn't see it on the scale. I recorded a 4 lb. loss, so I'll take it!

I'm going to another five pounds for October. I also started counting POINTS again this morning, so that is going to really help. I was on the TM for a good walk yesterday, and I plan a little jog after work.

Becky -- You are doing great! I am a June baby, too. We'll get there together! :goodvibes

Disneyfanz04 -- It sounds like you have a great goal! I can't imagine doing a full marathon. What a great experience that will be! :cool1:

Tiggerkeeper -- I haven't actually seen the Biggest Loser video, but I've heard Bob is a sight to behold. That would get me moving!

Tara -- 8 lbs. is an awesome goal! I promise to drink more water with you. :drinking:

Kathy, Wendy and Dona -- Hope you're hanging in there, New Month, New Opportunities! :grouphug:

We can do this, one pound at a time!
Maria

Yep! October is going to be a month to mark a loss on that scale and feel good about our healthy goals! I have a bit of a sore throat and usually I'd let that stop me, but I went and walked with my kids and dogs for an hour yesterday and slimfasted one meal and had sandwich/salad/pasta and an apple/nuts for snack...trying to get some soup in me today! It's 88 today here in AL! I hear some of you are putting the heat on...whew! I hope that heat will help me sweat off the pounds on our walks! :)

Girls taking horse lessons today, hope that goes well...starting a scouting troop for girls and that's keeping me busy, issues with son's football coach, oh, life dishes it out to you and we must run with it but still find time for ourselves through proper eating/exercise...I just really like food, but I should like myself more than food....and I DO!!!! :)

Water water water today is my goal...trying to get atleast 3 big glasses of water, sticking to one with each meal and a diet coke for the caffeine.

What's your plan???

Let's kick it team!
Tara

Hi everyone. Everyone sounds to be getting Oct off to a good start. I too want this to be a losing month.

My goal this week is to exercise every day (I have been letting this slide and I have to get back on track)

My other goal to drink at least 8oz of water before I eat anything. It slows me down and also fills me up

Keep up the hard work everyone. I have to go write lesson plans

Wow! Sounds like there are some great goals out there! You CAN do it!

Do any of you have a problem meal? Breakfast is really hard for me. I was trying to eat oatmeal for 30 days...high cholesterol but geez that is not as easy as it sounds. After about a week, even after adding fruit etc. to it, I get discouraged. I try to eat a whole grain and protein for breakfast and a dairy for snack a couple of hours after. Anybody have any suggestions for making breakfast more interesting?

My plan is to eat a salad with protein at least one meal a day. Then for the other meal I eat 2 veggies and a protein. Snacks usually consist of fruit and dairy. Oh yeah, I have to go low fat, low sodium, low cholesterol and add fish to at least two meals a week. I drink 3 liters of water daily (part of my hospital stay in August was due to renal failure and severe dehydration). Add 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes body shaping and I am ready for bed!!

Hope everyone meets their daily goals today!! :teeth:

Dona! I like that! Drinking water BEFORE I eat! I am going to follow your lead on that one! :)

TK: Breakfast is not so bad for me...I'm not that hungry in the morning so the cravings just aren't there...but I typically will keep regular cheerios and skim milk as an option, whole wheat toast with a glass of skim milk, if I'm running late I'll do a slimfast just to get something in my body. I have heard it's good to have protein in the morning, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon once a week, and to avoid fruits first thing in the morning...they're really good for your snack in between meals...they're high in sugar and on an empty stomach not the best choice....but as a snack after you've had some protein and/or grains it's a good thing! Even a mozzarella cheese stick and a piece of toast is good for getting your tummy working for you! :) Omelets with green peppers/onions...veggies are good in the morning I just don't have the time to prepare them.

I'm going to adopt your plan of cardio/toning...I can usually get an hour of walking in a day but I've been slow on the uptake for free weights and strengthening, I'm going to do push ups first thing in the morning and sit ups...then use arm weights when I sit at night and watch our show we've Tivo'd....

We have a family portrait scheduled for the end of this month, so that will keep me working hard and a Christmas party with my husband's work...so knowing I have an official night out with hubby will make me work hard, too! :) We rarely find time to get out on our own! :)

Thanks for the great ideas! They just need to be repeated and repeated for my mind to say "Oh Yeah! Drink that water before you eat!!" :)

Tara

It is hard to remember to drink it before you eat but I think it really helped yesterday. I keep forgeting today but I still have lunch and dinner to go.

I have cheerios and skim milk or oatmeal in the morning (trying to get cholestoral down) about an hour later I have a piece of fruit either an orange or a banana for the potassium.

Good day fellow losers.

My goal for October is to either maintain my weight or even loss a little while recuperating from surgery. I will be very limited on exercise for at least the first 4 weeks and maybe longer.

Work has been very busy trying to get everything done before next Thurs.

I am stil planning on doing the race on Sat. I'm not sure my foot will hold up long enough to finish but I am just going to do my best. The race course starts and finishes at the Pentagon. We go past the Mall and the Capitol also. Should be a scenic race.

Everyone have a great day.

Well, on track for September, and back down to my former "low point" --woo hoo--which means I've earned trapeze lessons!

Sooooo, did you get all your water and exercise in today?  The TM is getting easier even though I upped the speed. After the first 10 minutes, in which I grumble and complain, the next 20 seem easy!

Tara, when do you find time in your day to exercise? That post about the horseback and scouts and such made me tired just reading it! :rotfl: My hats off to you for getting it all done!! :woohoo:

Kathy, good luck with your race Saturday I'm rooting for you! :Pinkbounc

Dona, cholesterol just stinks doesn't it? Every food I want is HIGH in the stuff! :sad2: Good luck with your exercise goal it is really hard to do it every day but once it is done you feel soooooo good!

Uh, Coaster trapeze lessons? You like to live on the wild side! :yay: What a great goal!

Maria, a 4 lb. loss that's great!!

good night everybody!

Well, yes, I guess I do... and the less of me there is the easier that gets...

Keep up the good work, everyone! :grouphug:

Good morning everyone. I had a rotten night sleep but it will hit me later. I had a long department meeting yesterday after school then back to school night for my son. When I got home I couldn't sleep so I read until almost 11. At 1 a thunderstorm came through and woke me up. When I woke at 4 there was no sense in going back to sleep. I did get in 40 minutes of walking and 10 minutes on my abs. To top off this rotten day I have all sorts of scout stuff to do tonight and a dentist appointment at 3:30. No body better clross me today.

I hope everyone is having a great day and keep up the hard work.

  Gooooood Morning! It's a happy dancing day here! I tried on a pair of jean that I wore this past Christmas that were tight and my daughter laughed and said "Mom, I could pants you in those jeans"!! They fall off where they once looked painted on... :lmao:

Hope everyone is having a great day! It's FRIDAY that's enough of a reason to cheer! :cheer2:

Drink more...eat less!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hello ALL! The sun is shinning today! The yuky weather is passing. I haven't been feeling very well, fall cold I guess, so I have been neglecting my goals. Well, I haven't been ignoring them, just neglecting. Haven't been for a good long walk in week. Just burst to get by. Work has been busy, and children doing great in school.

Looks like lots of goals going on. My goal is to finish losing the 10 pounds I wanted to lose this last summer! I AM going to get to under 200 by New Years! I can do it! It's just about 10 pounds. A pound a week is a good target. We can do it!

DH got me a pedometer to help me count up my miles for the walk to wdw I want to do. We also pow-wowed and decided to get a small home gym system (bowflex sport) for everyone. It comes in on Tuesday. I need some tightening and toning. And it will add to my excercise challenge!

Well all, time to get up and run for the rest of the day. Home football game between the two large local schools. It will be busy!

Great losses to all!

Wendy

Hi!

Just checking in quickly. I'm planning to hit the TM today and tomorrow, and work on eating good meals.

Excellent goals! Let's keep going! Good luck with running, eating, walking, smiling, and feeling fabulous!

Maria

Hope everybody's having a great weekend!

I have a 2lb. loss to report! :cool1: 178! I haven't seen that number in a looooong time! Keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the end of the plateau I slammed up against!

Off to see my best friend...the TM! :lmao:

Weigh-in this morning was a happy time. Saw a number on the scale I have not seen in well over a decade. Now *there's* motivation for you. Also just bought some wrist and ankle weights to kick the nightly walks up a notch.

Keep smilin' and workin' ladies...

Congrats. It feels so good to hit anumber that you haven't hit for a while. Keep up the hard work
