Welcome Cristabel!!! You and your sister will be bringing in the Fall in a great new fit and healthy bod! :) Every Monday I'll post weigh ins and pounds lost...coming here to write your foods down...post your exercise....or just to post before you reach for that not so wise snack...can help you get there!!! Glad to have you!!! You'll be seeing "Onederland" before you know it!!! Try to reward yourself, too....I give myself something good at every 10 pound juncture...I need to lose 40 pounds and then I"ll see where my body takes me. So that's 4x I get something nice for myself...a new top to wear at Goal or a plant for my garden! :)

Jen! You have been doing GREAT adding in the veggies!!!! Don't you feel less sluggish and lighter? I know I have more energy when I get the good veggies in...you've convinced me to have a salad for lunch!!! :)

I had slimfast for breakfast...just no appetite this morning so I try to sub a drink for a meal when that happens. I like getting the vitamins and less clean up on the kitchen! :)

Two sickie children at home...taking them for a strep swab later....feel one has it and one doesn't...but we'll see.

Tracy...for the math...we use Saxon Math...my son is more of an auditory learner but my girls are visual...but they've both done great with it....what I have found that helps is making sure their addition/subtraction is spot on. Saxon has flash cards that are color coded (meaning different colors) and when I stack all the cards together it looks like a rainbow...:) There are over 220 cards that I will play a game with them....they have 3 seconds to answer what they are or it goes in the "don't know" pile....if the KNOW pile hits 200 they get a prize of some sort...and then they get to "test" me....it's really fun and they learn both ways...but once they've got the addition facts down then I move to multiplication and give them 5 seconds per each...I'd do this drill/game 3x a week and within 3-4 weeks they were sailing through to division. Hope this helps!

Off to get my kids ready for their swab...they HATE it!!! I don't blame them!

No weighing or thinking about what I eat today...It's one of those three special days when anything goes. Not Christmas, not Thanksgiving, it's my birthday!

Have a great day, and smile a little smile for me!
Maria

:dance3: :dance3: Happy Birthday MARIA!!!!!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Tell us what you did!!!! I sat down 3x to send you a special ecard and kept getting pulled away...now I'll have to look for a belated one! :) I hope you had a little cake and ENJOYED it!!!! You have a good weekend to work off any big cheats and have a great weigh in! :)

I'm going to go grocery shopping today!!! I started guitar lessons yesterday so I'll have something else to keep my fingers busy with instead of opening the fridge...and I did a scrapbook last night for my grandma's 81st birthday party....whew!! Gotta keep these hands busy and away from the food! :)
Yesterday I had a salad for lunch! (Thanks Jen!) and dinner was black-eyed peas and half a piece of corn bread....my daughter begged for it so I caved. I had a handful of semisweet chocolate chips for my cravings with TOM and otherwise did pretty well.

I need to MOVE today! Trying to get a good long walk in and some swimming! :)
Tara

Good morning everyone,

Well, here I am at the gym, I walked for a mile and did some weight work for my arms. I'll be back later, so I figure I get on the TM and walk again. I packed 4 bottles of water in my bag, so I know how many I have to get in today. I'll be running to the bathroom!!!

So anyway, we are taking the kids to the drive in tonight to see Car's. We are going to bring our own popcorn, drinks and lots of blankets. It's the first movie playing, so if everyone gets tired and cranky, we can leave.

What are everyone else's plans for this weekend?

Here's to healthy eating for all of us...

Happy late birthday Maria!!! May all your wishes and dreams come true!

Yesterday was not very good. Too many snacks and too much sorbet. UGH. I did get a veggie or fruit at every meal, so that is an improvement!!! Yay improvements! Even a top notch eating day at work-even though a meanie ice cream eater's mom came up, started yelling at me and the supervisor (fresh out of college) and saying that one of us took a bite out of her kid's "Blizzard" and it was messy how could we give that to a little kid? She was furious-yelling, sticking her arm in the window... The supervisor saved my behind. I was frozen there, half scared (nobody had ever been that mad toward me at work over a simple ice cream), half amazed (how could you yell at innocent people when talking gets the job done faster and better). I couldn't stop thanking the supervisor!! And nobody took a bite out of her son's treat. That's just not nice. And besides, if I really wanted one, I could A) make it myself, and B) I would not eat out of something for the customer.

Today should be good. I don't think I'll walk to the library. I do want to play some tennis, though.

B: 2 eggs, scrambled, turkey (2 deli slices), Gala apple, Light n Fit Vanilla Yogurt

Hi all,

So the lack of batteries was not the problem with the scale. I went out got batteries, went home, bought wrong batteries :rotfl2: so got new batteries, the right ones this time. I put them in, stepped on the scale and NOTHING!!! so I threw that scale AWAY.
see ya later and happy losing

Good luck scale shopping Tracey. Our first one, that also tells you your body fat percent, acted up and I thought that I was just tubbing along, and lo and behold, it was the scale. I was quite relieve!

What type of gym do you go to? I was considering joining Curves here with my DD (10) to help with keeping things firm while losing. I am open to ideas!

First one to check in for our summer weight loss challenge.

I am down 5 pounds.  I am now at 190

I don't know how it happened. I had three parties this week but I really watched what I ate but I still had some desserts (as small as they were) and I really had a good time at them.

I can't believe it. This is the lowesst I have weighed in years.

Hope everyone else has as much luck with the weigh in this week.

Oh this is wonderful! Congrats! I'm so excited for you!
We just got back from WDW, and I can at least report that I stayed the same (which = 15 pounds up from January 1st). So now I have to work on getting rid of that 15 pounds. I just had my Weight Control Oatmeal for breakfast and I bought some salad and apples. Time to get healthy again!

I will weigh in next week since this is my first week actually trying to lose weight again.

Hope everyone had a great week! Our 'family' trip was not what I had hoped, but it wasn't bad. There were some family issues going on that we didn't know about ahead of time that put a dark cloud over the group, but by the end of the week it seemed that everyone lightened up and were enjoying themselves.

I had bought t-shirts for everyone so we could all dress alike, but I put them away for another year because the 'mood' was just too serious and I could tell they just were "into" Disney in that way.

Anyway, we are planning to do this again in 2 years and by them these family issues (that really don't involve the 4 of us personally) should be resolved one way or another and maybe that trip will go better.

SO now back to work on this body, and getting healthy!

:cheer2:

donac! Wonderful!

I, too am doing my weigh in earlier since we are leaving at 5am for a trip to Mackinaw Island in northern lower Michigan.

I am at 214.5! Yippee for me! I lost 1.5 pounds. I am aiming at more with adjusting my orthotics and such to walk more. I am just glad that I remain losing, even if it is only a pound a week. I haven't been at this weight since before my last child! 10 years ago!

Giving wishes to all those on the summer challenge to meet their first week goals!

Wendy

Hi,

I'd like to join the summer challenge. I would like to lose 12 lbs this summer. That would put me back to WW goal and into the 150s again.

Thanks!

Sunny

Well I didn't lose anything this week (but I'm happy I didn't gain anything either). It was a pretty bad week eating wise, I just couldn't seem to keep my hand out of the kids snacks (basically pretzels but when you don't count the points...) I'm gonna make sure that this week is better and I'll get out walking again.

Congratulations everyone on your losses. I hope everyone has a good week.

WOW!! Great to see the losses and maintains are a good sign as well! Whenever you kick up the exercise or change stuff it can be an adjustment week...so hang in there!! There's plenty of time!

I"m going on my 3 mile walk this morning...will weigh when I return! Can't wait to update Monday's weigh in!!!! :)

LET'S GO TEAM!!!!
Tara

I'm the same as last week. My 2.5 hr of mowing didn't help. I figured if I was mowing at the rate of 30 min miles, I walked about 5 miles while mowing. The lawn is between 1/2 and 2/3 of an acre.

My eating last week was not good, chinese 3 days. I am back to the gym and hope to get there about 3 days per week. Hopefully next week, I will see a loss.

Great job to everyone who has maintained or lost.

I didn't lose any...but I did have cotton candy and hot dog last night at the end of VBS...so figured the salt/fat/sugar was not conducive to a good weigh in....I did do my 3 miles this morning though!!! YAHOoooo!

Dona!!! WAY TO GO!!! THat was a major FLUSH of weight! :) I know you were TICKLED PINK!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Debra...wow!! Maintained at Disney, that is a HUGE accomplishment! :) I know you'll get those 15 pounds off this summer!!! You're 1,200 calorie a day plan is always in my head...now if I could just get it to go to my mouth and stomach! :)
Sorry to hear about the cloud in the family....why do they have to float over before a vacation???? But glad Mickey and the gang could ease it up a bit for you!

Wendy!!!! GREAT job on the 1.5 pounds!! You keep that up and you'll knock your goal right out of the summer! :) I know you can do it!

Mentally I just wasn't in the game last week...vacation Bible school, sick children 3 days...running all around and no time for good groceries and exercise...but today is a new day and I already got my exercise in...will low carb for breakfast and go shopping after tennis today! So more veggies in our future! :)

Talk to you guys soon!
Tara

Hey all- It's good to see some losses from you all this morning. I have learned so much about taking it one day at a time. SPecial thanks to those who pointed me in the direction of fitday and the free on line journal. It has been the difference for me this week to be able to get on track. (well that and reading everyone's posts about what they are doing!) I still am finding it difficult to find my way around the boards. :( I would love to respond to posts but I get so confused as to who is who. Do know that I do read them though and will maybe make notes so I can respond.

Drum roll please... I lost 4 pounds this week so I am at 160 at the moment. :) THe difference for me I think is not eating out as I normally do. I just dont' make good choices when I do that.

I also was able to run 4miles on Thurs and Friday and then 8.5miles yesterday. The Disneyland half marathon is coming up pretty quickly . (Sept)

One last thing... how do I get one of those "banners" that say "150 club" to add to my signature? Any help is greatly appreciated.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Kris

Happy Monday All!!

I went the wrong way on the scale and saw 179 :guilty: :sad2:

Had a doctor appt today and discussed the menopausal thing........ :faint:

This last year has been a toughie on my body - many changes going on. So here I am still fighting the fight and NOT GIVING UP!! Got a couple of books on the subject and will keep plugging along...........

Congrats to those of you who maintained or lost. :Pinkbounc

I'll get there - it may just take a while

Have a Magical Disney Day
Linda

Good Morning!

I am so proud of us for checking in. It's easy when you have a loss (and we love to hear it!), but when you don't it can be harder. Anyway, I'm really proud that everyone is committed and ready to get going on a losing week!

I made my goal of 21 miles last week, so this week it's on to 23! I did almost 8 Sunday (Evita is a looooong movie!), so I have a good start. I took yesterday off, so hopefully I'll get about 5 in today.

I'm still trying to eat lower carb, and mostly succeeding. I do great with the things I pack for lunch and snacks. If I can keep myself on the TM until dinner is ready... :rotfl:

Linda -- You have the right attitude. We are not in a race, we are going to get there eventually! :sunny:

Kris -- Congratulations on your loss! :cheer2:

Tara -- I hope everyone stays well this week. With all you do, you are bound to see a loss! :Pinkbounc

Kathy -- Chinese food artificially increases your weight by holding water. You are going to see a loss once it fully departs, and that can take up to 3 days...so don't despair! :thumbsup2

Tiggerific -- I also have issues with the kid snacks. I just need to stay off of that shelf! :teeth:

Sunny -- You have a very doable goal. I'm sure you'll get there! :woohoo:

Wendy -- Great job on the loss! Enjoy your trip, I know all this walking is helping! :)

Debra -- So sorry your trip wasn't all you had hoped. But I know you found fun and magic, anyway. What did you think of the Boardwalk? I have heard the pool is interesting... ::MinnieMo

Dona -- I am really proud of you! You have stuck with it and now you are seeing the rewards! :cloud9:

Jen -- I hope things are going better at work. Sounds like you had a crazy customer!

Tracy -- Great plan with the water. You can't go wrong!

I know I'm sporadic here. By the time I try to get on, the server is usually too busy. But I'm thinking of you!

Maria
