The good news is my foot is out of the soft cast. The bad news is, I have been eating everything in site the last 2 days. The junk I have had is Girl Scout cookies, cinnamon caramel corn, and regular caramel corn.
I still cannot start walking and training for the WDW Minnie 15K on May 7th. Looks like I won't be able to do it. The podiatrist doesn't want me doing much walking for at least two weeks. She doesn't even want me on the foot for extended amounts of time until I strengthen the muscles in the foot again. She said when I start TMing it again, I should start out with 5 min and work up slowly. I don't usually do anything at that pace. I can start riding my bike again as long as it doesn't bother the foot. She also decided if the foot goes back to its post marathon problems, she will order a bone scan or mri to find out what is going on.
I need to get some motivation to get back to eating healthy. My day started with a Quaker oatmeal breakfast square, 3 GS cookies between clients, chix caesar salad for lunch. That is when my eating fell apart. I followed lunch up with the rest of the tube of GS cookies, 2 miniture candy bars, and an orange. Supper consisted of a hamburger, asparagus, and a soda. I took the container of caramel corn downstairs with me and ate most of it while doing my brothers income tax return. I wasn't hungry, just wanted something to munch on. I need to get rid of the munchies. I have no will-power currently and cannot get out and exercise like I want to.
I have gained back 6 lbs of the weight I had lost. My pants had finally started filling looser and are now tight again. Ned to get re-motivated.
donac - hope you get feeling better. Great job on the treadmill. You should think of doing the WDW half in 2007. Until Oct when most of the actual training begins, you spent the time training to training. You work on endurance and speed. I really didn't start to seriously do iany training until Oct last year. I did a little walking during the year but nothing major. If you get the chance read the books by John "The Penguin" Bingham. He has one called Marathoning for Mortals that alot of people used for the 2006 races. That is what I followed and was able to fininsh the race.
Jen - working in an ice cream store would be a challenge for me. I like ice cream too much to just have a small bowl. You have accomplished so much. Don't give up. You can continue your jounrey to a healthier you while copying with the challenge of you work place.
Linda - hope you daughter gets accepted into the college program. Erin and her BF both really like it. Others are as happy with it. Erin thinks it makes a big difference if you are aware what WDW is all about and your attitude when you go into the program. The pay isn't great but Erin is managing to live on it. She went into it with the idea she would be able to put the experience on her resume while being able to work at a place she really likes.
Tara - great job on the walking. I wish I could get back to doing something to give me something to do besides eat. Take it slow and don't get hurt.
Maria - keep up the good work with the TM. You are doing great.
To everyone I missed, continue with your journey to a healthier you. Take 1 day at a time and don't give up.
