Hi Everyone,

Debra,

Thanks for those words of encouragement. The pictures were awesome. I think we should all think of doing before and after pictures. Even maybe 1 a month so that we can all see our progress. Anyway, I too have a collection of jeans. I have 18 down to 8. I found that my 18's that I bought from target are too big, but the 18's I have from Kohls are just a little loose. I am able to switch from my 18's to 16's from Kohls, which I have to do anyway, since I only have one of each. The 16's are definetly snugger but at least I can get them buttoned.

I was at the gym by 6:15 today, did some ab work. I need to find something that will work the lower ab's. I have noticed I have a bit of a skin overhang. Boy I hope that goes away. I don't have the extra cash to have a procedure to have it removed. Gotta go to Disney ya know!!! I than worked the thigh machine. I would like to leave the body glide home this trip, but we'll see. I walked the treadmill for 30 minutes. I'd say I spent 20 minutes walking at 3.6. I'm not sure what that means but I felt it was a good clip. Worked my arms while doing it, so I did work up a sweat.

Well I wish I could say I know how to make the clippies. But I don't have a clue how to do it. The ones I got for the challange were on the Wish Thread. There is a Tread there that is a sticky and says "All Wish Clippies" I clicked on the link it showed and got it from there, or I clicked on someone elses clippie and just copied it to my sig lines.

There is a yahoo group called Disney Tags and there are a few girls on there who make such tags and paper but they won't tell you how to do it.

Back to the extra skin thing. Have those of you who lost great amounts of weight, had trouble lossing the skin. After having 6 kids I expected it to be stretched out, but I would probably loss 5lbs just by getting rid of that skin. AArgh. There is a personal trainer at the gym, I am going to ask her for a few excerises that might help with that. I'll pass them on to you if she wants to share them with me. Since I'm not paying her $50.00 she may not want to.

Did any of my fellow DVCers see that we are now allowed to purchase the Disney Dining Plan. I'm trying to figure out if we should take advantage of this in May.

Ok I'm off to order DH slippers for Christmas.

I hope everyone had a losing day.

Tracy

today has been pretty good.

Wrestling is every night...so I will try some of the ideas posted! Thanks!!

B: 1 egg with ham, one piece of toast with PB and two pineapple spears.
L: 1 splop mashed potatoes, 1 roll, 2 bites salisbury steak
S: 1 pb samich, some chips.

The PMS is hitting hard this time around. I get the hungries before TOM comes...I will do well today!

I think I might go to the basketball game tonight...it should be good!

Toodle-oo's gang! Okay, I came to confess...I just finished a mini bag of cheetos in lieu of my dinner slimfast....somehow the cheetos just sounded better. ugh. Here's the good news...I had a slimfast for breakfast, a handful of peanuts for snack...lunch was AWESOME!!! I finally got around to making my doo-dle-die-doo to die for salad (that means all the junk I love in it)...lettuce, spinach, red bell pepper, carrots, olives, raisins, boiled egg, bacon bits (real ones!)...oh and some shredded cheese...YUM! My 7 year old loves it as much and helped me finish half. Now, I'm curious...if you all could fix you IDEAL salad...what would be in it???

Let's hear it gang...wahoo for salads!!

After the salad I did have two little gingerbread men...this recipe has no butter/oil in it only whipping cream as it's binding agent...and it's yummy! I had a few more peanuts and then I had the cheetos...I'm done for the day...need to flush out those cheetos with a big glass of water!

I did a 1/2 hour of strength training off FitTV...really love Gilad and the Caribbean Beach workout is okay..just their cameraman won't show you the full shot of the move until they're halfway through it...it's kind of aggravating....did my 30 pushups...amazing how muscles work...last week I had to do 3 sets of ten taking a 15 second break between each set...now I go 30 straight and tomorrow I may try to push it to 40 or do two sets of 20 then work up to 40 straight...there is NO way I could have done 30 straight 7 days ago....YES OUR BODIES will WORK WITH US! :)

I don't do my walking if the temp is below 40 and that's every morning this week...so hopefully this weekend I can get my long walks in...supposed to rain...planned to walk with TiffJ but the weather may not cooperate...she's going full force for Friday..but I don't think my kiddoes would like me dragging them on an 8 mile walk at 8am! :)

Everyone have a GREAT WEEK!!!

Jen!! GREAT JOB on the eating..I'm just soo darn proud of you posting your eats..it makes me think twice about eating something knowing I have to post about it! :)

LOL! When I saw this, I first thought: "They have a workout show from Caribbean Beach Resort?" Yes, I think about Disney WAY too much......BUT wouldn't it be cool if the Disney channel would do a morning workout show every day from WDW? I would love it! I might actually do the exercises too! :goodvibes

Thanks for the thoughts & prayers everyone, I came online to take care of a few loose ends, my mom passed away last night very peacefully. I'll be out of town for a bit but appreciate your prayers.

My mom's obituary

Good morning fellow losers.

My weight seems to have stalled. The doctor told me yesterday my weight has been the same on the last 4 visits. It needs to change soon before I say what's the point, ny body is comfortable at this weight.

Exercise is going well. Did 70 min on TM mon, 48 min on bike Tues, rest Wed, and 60 min om TM last night. TOday is supposed to be 30 min of cross training and tomorrow is my 8 mile walk.

Tara - walking in the cold is not as bad as it seems. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid 30's with lake effect snow. The snow will slow me down more than the temp. The 5 miles last Thurs were done in sub-32 temps and I got sweating with just a cool max long sleeve shirt and a tech fabric shirt.

After talking to the doctor, we have decided I need to eat more and try to get a more varied diet. She thinks it is what I am eating now how much I'm eating. hopefully she is right.

Will check in later.

Hi
My name is wendy and my goal weight is also 155 I now weigh 250 so its a long ways off but I am determined to do this. We just booked our cruise for next december and I am going to be thinner by then.

May I join your club?

My "first ultimate goal" is to get down to about 158 - then I will be able to say I've lost 50 pounds. Then I will decide if I want/need to go any further than that, maybe 10 more pounds after that, I don't know, we'll see.

When I first started I was up to 208, last year at this time I was 167 but over the course of this past year I slowly went back up to...gulp...190. :guilty: But I am BACK ON TRACK, watching what I eat and exercising again. I am 182.5 now so have a ways to go to get into the 150's but I think this club is just what I need to keep me motivated.

Karen

Our prayer's and thoughts are with you. We will all help you get through this tough time.

Hi Losers,

Last night when I was working at the gym I asked the personal trainer for an excerise that would concentrate on my abs. She told me about the 4 muscles that are our abs and said I need to "flatten" them before I actually lifted my head off the ground. I'll tell you, I feel it today. So this morning before I got on the TM I did 25 of these sit ups the way she told me. I'll do it everyday and see what happens.

I saw a post on the W.I.S.H Thread from a women who is looking at looseing ALOT of weight. I think she said she was over 350, at this point. I pointed her in our direction. I'm hoping she'll join this very supportive group and get healthy like she wants to do.

I'm off to the store to find a food sealer.

See ya later and Happy Losing

Karen...I read the obituary...what a blessed woman to have so many children/grandchildren to share her life with....I'll be praying for all of you over the next days...and holidays. Let us know if we can do anything for you!

Kathy...you have turned your exercise lifestyle 180 degrees! That is WONDERFUL and will do sooo much to help you in the long run...the things that keep pounds on me (if I'm not overeating, that is) are refined sugar and white flour...if you can totally cut those two things out of your diet for a month, I bet you'll see some losses...I know you haven't been eating alot...and sometimes with all that working out it will reserve some energy...so eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies and lean proteins..it will come off!!! But, don't be discouraged...weighing the same 4x in a row is much better than gaining...and all that muscle mass you've built weighs more so you've actually lost...you just don't know it! :) I wish I could walk in cold weather...with me it's my breathing...while walking I have to breathe through my mouth (long story about adnoids/tonsils/septums) but when the air is colder than 40 I almost always get a sore throat which leads to strep or bronchial problems...so I just compromise and turn on FitTv...today is my day off so I'm letting my muscles heal..but I am doing my pushups! :)

Debra...Boy do I ever wish the Caribbean workout was at Dis! :) Maybe I'd be a little more receptive to their camera style! :)

Wendy!!! WELCOME!!! YES you will be HEALTHIER THINNER AND READY to take on a cruise come next year...and you'll feel GREAT!! You can do this!!! One step at a time...come on in and tell us any changes you're making/any exercises you'd like to try/how you'll feel going down a new size/just all the FUN stuff about losing!!! It actually can be fun! :) My highest was 258 and I can tell you WISH really helps!!!! :)

Chattyaholic!!! YESSIREE!! You are a proven loser! 167 last year?? We can get you beyond that and never see that number again (I know for myself seeing just 167 would be whhooopee!) I'm right around where you are and my lowest in 10 years was 2 months ago at 175.8...so let's kick this together and get moving! :) Taking it slow and easy....we'll win this race! :)

Schatz5k! Great ab pointers....I think they're one of the top 3 muscle groups and by building those we're burning more fuel...so let's all flatten our tummies in our crunches! :) Thanks a bunch for sharing our club....we'd love to grow this bunch of losers and help everyone realize a healthier self. And have fun and fellowship while we do it! :)

I snacked way too much yesterday...I was going to cut out nibbling after my last post yesterday but I had to make a Gingerbread house that we'll be decorating today...I learned my lesson last year and knew to make it the day before so it would be stuck good...well, AARGH! I didn't get to bed before 1:40 am...I spent 3 hours trying to hold the roof in place and 3x it fell in after holding it for 45 minutes..I had all these soup cans lined up a box on the inside but that thing was a beast! I should have rolled the roof thinner..but we all learn...so I kept giving myself a handful of vanilla peanuts for energy and a mental boost while I made this thing work..and YAHOO I woke up this morning and it's still in the shape of a house!!! :) I did say no to another small bag of cheetos. :)

Off to get this muscle cramp out of my shoulder from holding that roof for 3 hours...eeekkk.

Tara

Good Morning!

How are we doing? I just had my oatmeal and raisins, and I'm having Applebee's WW menu for lunch. After that this weekend may be a mini-disaster... I have the family party on Saturday and Breakfast with Santa on Sunday. We're bringing a shrimp tray and veggie platter with low-fat dip to the party, so that might be o.k. I just don't do well with the desserts. Breakfast with Santa never has anything healthy, so maybe I'll sip a cup of tea.

I still haven't made it back on the treadmill, and it's not very likely until Tuesday. It's depressing, but I am determined to try to do better.

Tara -- We bought a gingerbread house kit, and I've never made one before. I'm going to learn from your experience! Cheetos are also my downfall. I love the crunchy ones...I try not to buy them, but every once in awhile...

Karen -- I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you are able to find comfort.

Chattyholic -- This is a great place to get motivated! 2006 is our year!

Wendy -- A cruise is a great motivator to get in shape. You will be a new person before you go!

Kathy -- I bet you've trained your body to walk in the cold. It doesn't feel bad because you learned to do it. It's like eating less, once you learn to do it, it's o.k. Your workouts are outstanding, great job!

Tracy -- You are going to feel great as you move down your sizes of jeans. It will be so rewarding when you zip the 16s up and they are literally falling off of you. I know that day is coming!

Jen -- I don't know how your parents view it, but in my household we are eating dinner together for the family time as opposed to having to all eat at once. My dh is never hungry when we eat, so he sits with us while we have dinner and joins the conversation. Of course, he is an adult so he gets that choice. Just a perspective for you.

Linda, Jean, KathyT., and everyone else -- There's still plenty of time to lose or maintain before Jan. 1st!

It's a tough time of year, let's just do the best we can, and really try to support each other!

Maria

Hi all! Today was great! Eating was great & I did that 8 miler. Burned almost 900 calories  I did it in 14:29 pace & that includes 1/2 mile of warm up. I was thrilled.

Tara- I know what you mean about the cold air. I am also a mouth breather & when I first started walking in the cold it would hurt my lungs. Now I've gotten used to it. Good thing, I've been doing most of my walks in the cold lately :cold: It was a good day to walk, this weekend looks like its going to be pretty nasty.

I weigh tomorrow. Hoping for some good numbers. I feel like it will be. This is my first weigh in on the Christmas challenge.

Everyone is doing great. Won't it be great to start the new year being a loser!

Karen thank you for sharing your mother's obituary with us. I pray you find comfort and peace during this time.

Haley

Hi all! My name is Ali,and I am 27.I am 388 lbs,5'3" and need to be 145 lbs for my health. I have high cholsterol, hypertension, type two diabetes. I was told by my doctor yesterday that if I don't lose weight soon,I most likely will die of a heart attack by the time I am 35. I lead a sedentary life, and have never exersised. My mom passed away two years ago at age 50. She was 398 pounds at time of death and had hypertension, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. Her cause of death was a massive heart attack. My father passed away 4 years ago at age 48. He was 375 pounds, and died of a massive stroke. My brother died at age 35. He was 368 pounds, and had a heart attack. Both of my grandparents died before I was born from heart attacks due to obesity. I don't want my life to be cut short like my family's was. I have battled with weight all my life. At age 10,I was 168 pounds. At age 14, I was 193 pounds. At age 18, I was 273 pounds. At 24 I was 368 pounds.

I have the first 2 pounds of my Christmas challenge!!!!! After doing so bad last weekend I am thrilled :goodvibes I think I have this thing kicked into high gear & motivation going great enough to get me through this holiday eating season.

Kilamanjaro-welcome to our group! The people on this board are awesome, motivational, inspirational, and very helpful. The best way to get started is to start changing a couple of little things at a time. If you change everything drastically you will resent it and quickly stop. Start walking for just 10 minutes a day and add 8 glasses of water a day. You also need to figure out a plan that will work for you. What works for one, doesnt work for another. I love WW because I can eat what I want, just account for it & portion control. Others love Atkins. Because of your medical history/issues you may want to consult with a nutritionist. Don't look at the big picture. I get way too overwhelmed if I do that. Take it in small groups- 5 to 10 lbs at a time. Remember every small loss counts, you cant lose 10 until you lose 1! Good luck!

I'd like to join in this group. Right now I weigh 205. Since Feb I have lost and maintained a 21 pound loss. I want to be in the 150's and I think with the help from these boards I am going to get there.
